I have installed 2 x 4TB WD Purple and small SSD in my DS420j.

I use it to store my media and play it on large screen TV through Nvidia Shield/Firestick through wired LAN.

My NAS is not ON 24/7. I turn it on 4-5 hours a day / 4-5 days a week through WOL.

Should I keep my HDD hibernation enabled or disabled for longer HDD life?

NAS & hdd inside power consumption is negligible cost wise so leave them on 24*7. NAS should have some sort of sleep/spin down option for hdd if not accessed for long. Btw, I hope when mentioned using WOL it is strictly from within your home network & your nas is not directly accessible from internet outside your home network.

Yes, it is within my home and to be on safer side, just movies, etc. on this NAS. No personal data.
 
Guys who purchased DS420j, from which seller did you buy? Im checking flipkart and I see only 3 reviews and it looks fishy. Can someone confirm?
This is what I'm looking at now.
