Try Vista or Try other XP cd...

I also get this problem...

Try a different XP CD..

ALso try changing some bios settings... or if you got other hdd then try disconnecting that hdd and the just let xp get installed...

Also try loading default settings from BIOS and then install..

Should solve the issue.

If you have an IDE hard drive.. try to install the OS on master not a slave condition.. If a SATA drive connect the SATA cable to SATA port 1 .. and disabled and Jmicrons drivers.. next check if there are any external peripherals attached, remove all the usb devices except the mouse and keyboard, before doing all this i would recommend what rahulyo and boogieman said .. use another XP CD and then try. I hope you are not using the ahem version :)

it's probably because you need to install the SATA drivers seperately. Either configure the hdd to run in an IDE compatible mode, or press f6 when it asks you to insert a floppy for the raid drivers.

anyway, you haven't really given much info...what do you mean by stuck? a system freeze? are there any error messages?

Just unplug your SATA HDD... let windows get installed..and then plug your SATA again..make it simple and sweet :)

do u know the screen which comes before creating the partition like even before the format menu like loading scsi drivers human interface devices and all those stuff , it just gets stuck there :( my comp dealer said that it is a ram compatibility problem and it will get solved after the bios is upgraded do u guys think this solve the problem btw i have a 667mhz 2gb ram sticks and do u think it is because of ram incompatibility?

BS. Why cant you just try changing your installation Disk please?? so that we come to know that its something else!
