i am facing a peculiar problem
today morning i opened my system did some browsing and shut it down.....
in afternoon when i try to open it after the windows loading screen i get the configuring updates message(though i havent done any updates and automatic updates is off)it stays like that for a min or so then shutdown.....
i restored it to a day earlier restore point it did work properly but again after opening it after sutdown again the same thing....
the os is vista and i am on sp1
now i am posting this after second restore have done all my c back and ready to format but was willing to know if a format can be avoided...
