T9

I hate T9. Horrible, useless and quite irritating.
wow, you actually use multi-tap to key in words when you send a text message? I'm gathering either you don't send many/large text messages or you've just been too darn lazy to learn the predictive text system :P

No offence man, but it's like saying "I hate GUIs for navigation. Nothing beats a command-line interface."

Even I use T9 for sms'es , though it's not as fast on sony as on the nokia's ... still much faster than multi-tap

Well your analogy just shot itself in the foot.

First you say T9 requires to be learnt, then you compare it to a GUI (where ease of use beats efficiency?).

I hate T9. Period. And you are right, I don't send large text messages. I see no need to. I'm not the sort of nut who forwards emails/SMSes etc. I don't plan to clog anyone's inbox any time soon.

And BTW, real geeks love the command line. GUIs are nice only because you can have many command lines at a time in a GUI.

t9 is like m.word, spend time learning it and still it doesn't behave the way u want it to. :)

oh n don't classify all the ppl who forwards mails as nuts. i ain't one and i know it.

I love T9. It may not be purfect but i only use it for smsing, i guess the only guys who should complain should be the ones who use their mobile for sending large emails.

And i'd rather have T9 and just 9 keys in my mobile than a large qwerty monster that doesnt stay in my pocket :P

The only thing that make smsing better is multitap :P

I hope apple bump up the spec sheets before releasing the iphone in asia :)

Dear King Krool,

My analogy about GUIs and command-lines was merely in jest and wasn't meant to be picked to pieces. I was, in a jovial manner, taking a cheap shot at the geeks who swear by the command-line. Incidentally, I'm one of those geeks. I thought the humour would be shared for I think you're quite a intelligent chap otherwise.

Yours Sincerely,

Tracer Bullet

P.S. I didn't fully understand how you've equated people who see the need to send large text messages to 'nuts' who clog inboxes with forwarded emails and text messages. Perhaps you may clear this out?
