How long will it take to get another.

In this time better tablets will come out.

15k is a good budget.
 
Agree to above suggestion. However if the budget is a concern, check out lava etab xtron and karbonn tab 8 at a store. both are in 6k odd range. Lava has IPS (better viewing) and karbonn is 8" with 4:3 ratio(for reading purposes.). detail reviews are avaiable if you google.

Where can i find these brands like lava , zync, hcl etc in Mumbai..i need to buy a tab today itself..for my friends daughter !! his budget is around 6-8k
 
I bought micromax funbook p275 for 4600/- plus 32gb sandisk ultra card @2200/-
Ist thing I rooted it & removed all the bloatware installed by micromax & configured the tablet to my hearts content,
using it last 2 months quite happy, screen is not an IPS panel but for surfing & watching movies its quite ok considering the cost I bought at.

This will drain your battery a lot and you need an extra cable which has 2 Y usb heads on 1 side & micro usb on other side since 500gb cannot be powered enough with single micro usb port. Else power your drive with a powered usb hub.

Also note that only Fat32 partition are natively supported by tablets NTFS will need extra driver support I guess. I hope your 500gb hdd is fat 32 or else you will have to convert the partition to fat 32.

Mate i have the same Sandisk ULTRA Class 10 Card. 1400 after coupons , original price was 1650...

See even on flipkart , a seller has oit for 1799 in the link you provided.

Yes now its 1799/- but that time it was 2150/- & 50 for courier charges & I had no such coupon code to get discount so I bought it for 2200, it got delivered the next day which actually surprised me.
