Is the Tagan BZ 900 available in India. If so, at what price point. I know the BZ800 is available in India.

I am considering a PSU upgrade, the requirement being it should be able to handle even a Quad SLI/Crossfire in future without issues (just to be on the safe side.)

This should be an investment which should last for the next 3 years regardless of my upgrades like my Antec Neo HE 500 has done for the last 3 years. If the Tagan BZ 900 is not available, what are my other options in the 800W to 1000W range within the 10k budget limit.

Oh btw, the PSU should be modular. the cabling in my rig is a mess despite the fact that my Antec Neo HE is modular. I cannot imagine what it would be like if there are a 100 cables sticking out of the PSU all the time.

well i would suggest to go for the Corsair HX 1000 availble from Rahul of itwares.... for 13.7 k i suppose

I Know Corsair HX1000 is the best there is available in India. But it crosses my budget limit by 3.5k (35%).

I was looking for something better than the Tagan BZ800 available in the 10k range, if there is no other PSU worth considering, I will go for the HX1000 only.

if i were you I would not buy a Tagan as I'm not confident on Tagan :)

just buy the HX1000 & live a happy life :P

^ The thread is over a year old. Since then I'm guessing prices have probably gone up.

For a 15k price point, I'd give the Antec Signature 850 a serious look as well.

LOL.. I was thinking how the hell did this thread get bumped up. Anyways, I got my HX1000 from Amarbir for that price, but as Crazy Eddy said, it was over an year ago and prices might have changed for the worse.

one question give us an idea what in next 3-4 yrs might be your configuration.... a very wishful config even

coz i was making my system and also looking for heavy duty SMPS. then i did power calculation and realised i wont ever need more than 750-800 Watts ever. May be you have something else on mind or something

my present system you can check is take 620W at 80% usage. Never a comp works at 80% load. Buy anyways do your maths. Thermaltake site has a power calculator in its SMPS page.

Also for 800 watts range if u plan to go little lower than 1000... my suggestion is Seasonic 850 , CM 900 UCP, Corsair HX 850 in this order.

Seasonic is baap of all smps in my eyes and is available. CM's UCP range is too good, very high quality and very efficient its bronze or silver certified. and of course HX of Corsair are better range than TX...

^^ A PSU has best efficiency at 50% load. In case of HX1000 the efficiency is as high as 90% in a particular range around the 50% mark. Also I had a lot of hardware (dual GPU, 6 HDD and devices that draw power via USB) so it made sense for me to go for HX1000. If you do not have a lot of load, then going for HX1000 might actually be a bad idea in terms of efficiency.

Instead of saving power due to efficiency, why not buy low power devices :) surely all hdd's apart from the OS one need not be the 'black' editions, similarly for GPU go for the cards which have lower idle power consumption....

Hmm looking at the current trend of reducing the power footprint, gone are the days of incremental power requirements, HD 58xx series/Lynnfield proccies are good example
