Task Scheduler freezing and can not update time

Hello

I am running Win XP with SP2 with all the patches and updates installed. I am experiencing the following two problems:

1. As I try to add a scheduled task using New Scheduled Task Wizard available under accessories, it simply freezes as soon as I click "Next" at the first screen. The task manager shows that it is not responding.

2. No matter which ever server I try from the list provided at MS website, I can not update the time. I always get an error message "An error occurred while trying to update time...".

Could some one please help me? :sigh:

well firstly run a good virus/spyware scanner ( eg bitdefender, nod32 etc)

as for problem 2, i remeber having that once, and i didnt find a way to sort it out, its fixed now only cos ive reformatted my hard-drive since then
 
I solved the problem. Basically because of the presence of lot a programs, it was taking a hell lot more more time to,load first time. After giving it about 3 mins for the first time, now it is loading quiet fast.
