I have TATA Indicom BB from tata teleservices Ltd.
They provide a landline and a DSL modem.
I am on the ResidentialAdvantage256DSL plan.
399/month
8 pm to 8 am unlimited download @ 256 kbps.
8 am to 8 am also unlimited, but at 50 ps / MB.
Modem was provided for free.
No installation charges.
But their billing is kinda screwed up.
I got a bill of 2000 last month and have been fighting with customer care since then.
The usage graphs from
MyAccount showed that I downloaded 1 GB in 1 hour on some day which is impossible with a 256kbps connection.
I sent a mail to
dsl.desk@tatatel.co.in and they sent me a usage details XLS sheet.
In that, there is the hourly usage details, but one row in the excel sheet contains usage for 20 hours! :S
I marked the rows with color and sent it back to them, asking for a refund.
But still, no reply yet. I havent paid the bill, and havent been disconnected yet.
I aint gonna pay until they fix this, and if they try to screw me again, I am gonna use the email which I got from them, which contains this XLS file, as evidence in court. :hap2:
Wish, I had the time to use a 24 hour unlimited connection. Then the money would have been worth spent.
The speeds are very good and downtime is zero for the past 2 months.
I guess that is because it is TTML and not pakka tata indicom by VSNL.:bleh:
