I have decided to purchase a unlimited BB plan and have zeroed in on the Tata flash 384 plan
Day time speed: 384kbps
Night(10pm to 8am) & Sunday speeds: 1.5mbps:ohyeah:
FUP: 68GB~(Mostly i wont be exceeding the limit)
Price: 1200Rs.(Gonna pay 6months. Free wi-fi router, free installation+ 1 month extra usage)
Location: Trivandrum
Uses: Heavy browsing, watching videos online and downloading(s/w's and torrents)
How good is the torrents DL in tata indicom.
The only alternate plan from Airtel in this price range was
Swift 1099-512kbps
Turbo 1299-512kbps(day)+1mbps(night)
Does airtel waive off the initial charges or offer extra month's usage like the TATA's? Please help me choose a good plan.:huh: Will be buying one in a day or two.
 
The TATA guy came yest and said that wired conn is not available for this plan and offered a wimax connection. The tower is about ~2.5km from my house. It would be really helpfull if you share your experiences or if know about this service of the TATA's
 
I have been using thois plan for 2 months and IM pretty pleased with it. During the day time the download speed is 35-40kbps(or kBps whichever) and the speed during nights is around 170kbps provided there are good no of seeds. With thesekind of speeds during nights and sundays trust me 70GB will never be enough. Im able to download somewhere like 4-5GB in one night(10PM-8AM).

I dont know abt the airtel plans but I wud say a big thumbs up for this plan. Go for it

While taking WiMax connection, just keep in mind that SNR should be greater that 22dB for proper functioning. I am using TataIndicom WiMax for past 4 months in Bangalore and there had been no down time. I am pretty satisfied with it.

If tower isn't in site from where you are going to put the antenna then strictly no no. distance is already more then what it should be. had tata wimax connection, not good for gaming though, pings are Ok, but frequent drops in connection not. Online games get stuck due to that.

CINR/SNR value too low :( only 18db. So going for wired. But the tata indicom guy says wired is available only from infinity750-1550 INR onwards :@ How good is this plan. Can we get 90-100kbps DL speeds ?
 
^^i had used tata 256kbps.....torrent speeds are great....i used to get 30-35 on good servers. So i dont think there wud be any prob with torrent speeds.

750 kbps?? never expect it to cross 750/8 KBPS, they cap the upper limit. In airtel you will get a little more ~ 10-15 KBPS.. this is normal case. No airtel option? Tata wired connection is good as long as no problem occurs. otherwise they are always a bit late in responding. Had experience with wired too ( In chennai, although service response differ from place to place)
 
Airtel Guy says he cant give wired to my home as it is too far from last connection(200-300 meters :@) Only options left are BSNL, Asianet Digital(plans similar to BSNL but Rs.25 cheaper) and Tata Indicom :( So shall i go for the TATA Infinity 750?
 
One more thing, please check with Tata customer service.. I thought that it doesn't matter if you are taking wireless or wired.. you should be able to choose any plan that you like.
 
Yesterday night I applied for the connection, paid for 6 months plan, getting 1 month free and waiver of installation charges and security deposit.
 
Any idea after exceeding FUP limit what happens ?? like in case of Airtel speed gets halved... ??

And I had talk wid CC person , he told the is no need of any installation coz I currently have 256 kbps connection ... router is ZyXEL P-600 series , i doubt it'll support 1.5 mbps connection... plz someone shed light on this
 
they wil ask you to upgrade u to a higher plan once you cross the FUP and my connection is 750 kbps always so i dunno much about whether the night booster works
