Tata indicom (VSNL) - Prepaid 256/2 mbps for 3 Months @ 3926/- is it worth?

Guys,

Please help me in choosing this plan, I have opted for night unlimited and will I get full speed with torrents, emule, limewire and other p2p wares. I am staying at Tolichowki, Hyderabad.

Plan: Quick Power 150

Bandwidth: Min 256, Max 2 Mbps

3 Months charges + installation: 3926/-

Day hours: 150

Night: unlimited
 
You are charged Rs.299 for the night unlimited plan. Since its a prepaid plan , Rs.299 will be deducted from your prepaid account.

Which means that instead of 150 hours in 3 months , you will be getting approx. 90 hours. Thats 1 hr of daily Internet usage. The duration of the Night unlimited plan is from 9PM to 9AM. So if your usage is not high during the day time , this plan is definitely worth it. One usually gets around 200kB/s download speed on torrents at night which is extremely good.
 
a whopping 200 kB/s in the night will more than satisfy me ... I wont use during day time (I will be at office, may be Saturdays and Sundays I will suffer little bit)

Sure that is no port forwarding issue with this isp ? I had problems with my local isp earlier thats why I am switching to TATA.
 
dude... my local network used by TATA have port forwarding disabled.... hence my torrent downloading speed never crosses 60kB on public and 160 kB on private trackers...

switched to rapidshare and loving it....
 
The local ISP I believe had Bharti connection and the Torrent speed never crossed 30 KB (not even constant, keeps fluctuating) for 512 Kbps and more over I never got the Green tick mark (either yellow or orange) on the status bar.

I tried explaining how to forward port, looks like he never had control, all in vains.

Rapidshare puts wait time for non premium customers, otherwise it is good.

Also I hate the bandwidth limit.
 
its definitely worth it if ur a download freak!! been on this line for about a year this sept its been awesome!!! a proper seeded torrent will get u 240 tot 250 kbps video sreaming is excellent.. but ull have to cut down ur day usage otherwise this conn is a treat!
