Tata Photon Plus connection error

My friend has been facing problem while trying to connect to internet through Photon Plus. He bought Tata Photon Plus few days back and installed it on his Macbook Air (2013 model). Whenever he is trying to connect he is getting this error "No phone service detected, check your line and try again". I have tried to install latest software from ZTE site and Tata Docomo site but still same problem. Contacted CC and asked them if device is activated and according to them it is activated. Dialer is showing full network but getting the above mentioned error when trying to connect. Also tried to connect it manually through network preferences but still same error.

Please help.

Laptop - Macbook Air (2013)
Dongle - ZTE AC2787
