it should be around 1 lac cheaper than the diesel variant.

I hope you are aware that Tata is not known to make brilliant petrol engines. Not that their diesels are super but they arent as bad as their petrol counterparts. Also with the bulk of the Safari, the diesel torque will help a lot

I do see prices on the Tata Safari page. What are you looking for?

Models 4 X 2 4 X 4
Safari DICOR 2.2 EX BS 3 Rs. 875,173 Rs. 963,026
All prices are Ex-showroom.
Local levies, Octroi, Entry tax etc. will be extra as applicable.
Prices are subject to change without notice and those ruling at the time of delivery will be applicable.
For exact prices and current offers, please contact the nearest dealer.

Tata Safari

^ Aah, OK. OP had mentioned he was looking for price of EXI model in one of his posts, and I thought I saw that one :)

Dude stay away from a Petrol SUV. Also Scorpio mhawk is much better option than a Safari, as per my opinion Safari is dated now.

any specific reason for wanting 2 go for petrol tata safari?

reasons

1. mother don't like sound of diesel so this is one condition from my mother if i want to buy new safari

2. As i hardly go outside delhi so i will put CNG on it . dam i am too much addicted to CNG :P

well i tried looking at Scorpio but my heart doesn't say go for it . But when i look at safari :ohyeah: my heart lets go . Also i already own diesel safari . it will complete its 5th year in November . i know safari look is 10-12 years old but it still look cool to have it . also rumour say new face of safari is coming in next year but with price tag of 12L-16L O_O dam expensive so better buy now :ohyeah:

dude you are mad to buy a petrol safari. The dealer probably thinks the same thing. You will regret it every moment of your life

if you want a petrol SUV, buy a GV or a CRV, or a big sedan.

Modern diesel cars are not that loud, and tata petrol engines are not that quiet :P

why not get the toyota innova petrol version auto or manual if available or else find in most expensive car like land rover, audi , and few SUV on road price even audi not sure if they have petrol

tata safari petrol was discontinued in 2007.

now it's available only in one engine option,2.2L Dicor with 140bhp.

BTW, the new safari won't be priced that high ! it will cost around 12L onroad for the top-end 4X4 Model

the 12 - 16L pricing is for the tata Aria which will be launched later this year.

well that's what people say to those who buy diesel version and used to say when i brought safari . Other then small problem which are famous . so for me its best SUV under 10Lac .

now i get why there wasn't any review after 2007 .

i email every dealer in delhi of tata let see who replies :P . Also today while talking to person i got to know they do make petrol version but only on special order and after that we have to atleast wait for 2month to get its delivery :( .

Let see what new things tata bring in safari on 11Oct *cross finger* i hope they improved interior of car and its hard gear

Amey has pretty much summed it up for you..... If u go for a Petrol TATA..... U'll probably have to bid TATA to peace of mind........!!! Lolzzz :P

On another note, earlier I too liked the Safari amongst the SUVs available in India...... But then I saw the Fortuner.....

And I was like..... "Safari.....??? Woh kis Chidiya ka naam hai??" It has the presence of a Battle Tank....

:D

update Tata still make petrol version of Safari :cool2: .today i confirmed with dealer but i have to wait 3months to get safari delivered + 3Lac for booking . time for me to sell my safari
