just restrict all posts by others in the te market

only the thread starter can post

well not sure why we didnt implement that but i guess its good in the sense people can get any needed clarifications from the person selling.it can be done via pm but this way the answer is there for other interested people to read

XT/bottle, we will continue to report posts of miscreants but the point I'm trying to drive home is that some action must be taken other than just deleting their posts.

Udit, that was discussed before but for some reason TE administration didn't think it was right.
well if it happens frequently it will lead to infractions etc so please do use report posts so that all the mods are aware of a person low balling. if there are no reports many of us might miss the posts.

i really think someone needs to take action.. reporting is going to work only wen the mods are actually free..
why not have a thread in the market section, where a list 'infractions' :P can be maintained... the mods can jus keep track of this.. nd if it goes beyond a particular limit.. jus ban that person from the market.. this could be a temp ban or a perm ban.. as is appropriate..
i really think that bans are the only 'proper' way to deal with this issue..
nd if the current mods think that they are coming under too much strain wid the added resposibility, am sure there will be a lot of other peeps willing step in and help out.. (Myself included :P :P)

Lowballing is gonna be there , thru PM's or on the Market Post . And its just as bad any ways .

People will haggle . Rather the buyer can state that , no negotiations or something . In this way , he will know its priced high if no one bites the sale .

But about people who quote higher than ideally should be , we need to get that sorted .

This a free forum and all should be allowed to post.:cool2:
It has been seen that apart from lowballing, crapping and sometimes pushing certain sales (and sometimes intentionally too:ashamed: ), useful posts from members have been helpful too.
So posting in market shouldnt be restricted to seller- as that can also work in a negative way and at times- deadlier than the present situation is.:ashamed:

bikey for market mod!!
Nahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!
I better dare an infraction than give away my freedom to spam. :ohyeah:
Exit- stage left. :P

@sharekhan...

haggling is one thing.. but being on the prowl for FS posts in the market.. and then immediately posting an interested message wid a quote which is like a few light years away from reality!!! there are a few ppl here who do that.. no need for me to take names.. but their behavior marks them out to be dealers/jobless SOBS bent on ruining everyone else's time... something HAS to be done about them...

That is why the sale should be a controlled one . A clear message like no price negotiation should be straight enough for someone to understand that i am not ready to bargain .

All i hope is that the items that are up for sale are priced decently .

dude...

these fellows that im talking about... dont even bother to respect such messages..

thats the problem na...

lets hope no one takes my case for doing this.. but these are jus some randoms threads i happened upon...

jsu go thru the above posts.. nd decide for urself wat i mean...

well when i was verbal against such issues in the past, everyone came out and bashed me for being a high headed mod, good to see ppl finally see my perspective :P

nevermind my posts, the person who was suppose to get it got it so i dont need to clarify anything..

on a side note, as ive said endless times, thank you and warnings dont really work, we have to be strict about such issues whenever the time comes, be it market or any place else, but all other ppl see(barring Rio ofcoz) when that is done is how we are flaunting our Modship :P
PS: We = Entire staff.

It's his item guys, he can choose to sell it for whatever price he wishes... either you buy at sale price, negotiate price via PM or STFU!"

-1 on that point...

The seller should consider the duration he has used the product for; and then accordingly price the product... (he should also consider the market price)

Second thing I have noticed; the seller will mention that the item is 1 year old but has only used it for 20 hours/2 days/ just once etc...

Come on... dude who gonna believe that?? you might have used the product for a lesser timeframe but it is 1 year old!!

Just my little thoughts on this... I ain't pointing a finger at anyone... coz most get ofended quite easily...

Anyways... I think there should be rules for sellers and buyers both... and instead on banning the person from the forum... u could ban him from the Market Section

some sellers do seem to have an inflated sense of their product's worth
+1 on that point...

"I think the mods should approve a thread before it's put up in the Market"

I dont approve of a mod approving a thread, but it will be nice if the members can rate a sale ( just +1 or -1).

And you should be allowed to see who all rated the thread (but not who gave how much rating).

In the rig gallery, a similar system is in place. You can see who all rated your rig, but you can see what rating each person gave.

+1 to this idea...

Those who spend time on forums and get to know people more and more rather just get their things/tasks/needs moving and disappear- will believe it.:P
There have been instances when ppl sell a days/week old product- but if you knew the whole truth- you won't touch it even if it were the last piece of the thing you desperately need.
Likewise there have been instances of stuff in pristine shape even after a long period of ownership.:)
So to me, the user/seller and the history behind it is very very important.:ashamed:
So there are those to whom i commit stuff for sale/purchase without even feeling the need to ask any query- not even price;
and there are the first timers whom i ask a few questions about what is their exact config, requirement, etc even if i am selling to make sure i am not just making a sale but making sure that the sale i amke is actually gonna be helpful to that person.
I have denied selling certain stuff to people i thought could benefit from something else cheaper and/or better and suggested teh same- provided the person is not scared away by the barrage of questions i throw at them.
Simple fact is some ppl lie for a living- some live to speak the truth irrespective of the consequences.:cool2:
