Ideally this question should have been PMed to the SMC Dealer registered in the forum. You can check their website for pricing!

You should contact SMC via PM... They must be having this board... if not then you can buy it from Prime ABGB...

Guys what kind of UPS should I get for a C2D/single GPU/19" LCD rig? I dont need extensive battery back up. Just long enough to shut down my PC incase of a power failure.

Is something like 700VA enough??

ALternate mobo if the 880GA-UD3H is unavailble is the Asus M4A88T M/USB3 ~ 5.7k

There's 880GM USB3.

Doesn't make sense to grab a CM Elite 310 for 1.6k when gamma is worth about 2k. BTW, Prime says they don't have 7200.12 RPM in stock but they do have 7200.11 RPM.

Other than that, Ultra High End Workhorse config looks more like Uber expensive gaming machine. Other than that, I am pretty sure a lot of people who are into high end workstations will prevent aluminium case. No matter how thick they are, they are always prone to getting dent/bent due to constant upgrade (usually the case for people belonging in this category) and that brings problem later on. Not really a new point, few people who are upgrading regular have been using such aluminium cases and given the same point- and now this point comes from a guy who owns an A70F. There are people who do have workstations of their own and they will concur.

You get really thick high tower cases specifically for workstations but you will have to do an RnD on that. Also there are some pretty good deals on i3 540+H55 combos out there.

  • Not a fan of the positioning of the ports in the 880GM-USB3. The Asus alternative isn't bad either.

  • Yeah the 31k Rig can do with a Gamma and AFAIK the cheapest pricing listed online is Rs.2170 in theITDepot.

  • If Prime doesn't have 7200.12 in stock then its better to get them from elsewhere. No point in getting a 7200.11 knowing how rocky the firmware was. Delta even has Sata 6Gbps 1TB Seagate. Though its kind of a market gimmic in hard drives as of now.

  • As the name suggests its a bit of both. Else would have gone with the Quadros. Please suggest a alternative Cabby. I was not able to find much options for that mobo.

  • When i looked around actually the i3 540 price had bumped upto ~5.3k-5.4k. It had dipped to ~4.9k earlier in the year. Decent H55 mobos still costs ~4k+(Like the Gigabyte H55M-UD2H) But yeah it deserves to be in the alternative choice of the ~40k. Honestly i forgot to add it:ashamed: (It was there in the previous guide) Thanks for poiting out.

Hello Dark Angel

I want to buy 2.1 speakers as replacement of my aging quantum speakers.
You suggest Altec Lansing 2.1 BXR1121 till your 41k rig for 950. I did an online search and the lowest i could find was ~1100+.
Also you suggest Altec Lansing 2.1 VS2621 for a little higher config for 1600. The lowest i could find was 1815 at lynx.

Can you tell me where to get at the rates you mentioned or have the prices gone up recently?

BXR1121 - Rs.950 and VS2621 is Rs.1650 (VAT inclusive Chennai pricing)
Pricing should be similar in other metros.

They list the price but even on their site only one model of altec lansing 2.1 speakers is available (and its for 7550)

Speaker - Audio - 2.1 Speakers - www.deltapage.com

Ive checked on SMC and ITWares. They dont have it.
AnythingIT has VS2621 for 1890. (general shopping sites like naaptol, homeshop18 etc quoting ~2000 or more)

The best i could find is at dvdstoredelhi's shop for Rs.1815

Do you know if its available online for lower than that price at some site.
