The Sauron

Forerunner
As per TE Market rules

2. You must provide 2 clearly visible pictures of the product along with your TE username and date written by hand on a piece of paper next to the product. Try to provide picture of bundled accessories if any.

http://www.techenclave.com/members-...technology-community-market-rules-110814.html

Now see here in this picture whether the date is clearly visible or not? There is no doubt the picture is good enough to serve the purpose. But rules are rules.

Rather than accepting mistake by the seller when "Metalspree" pointed out violation in thread itself he received bad remarks(All posts deleted), Seller could have replaced picture, thats it.

Now question--

Is there any exemption in TE rules for the moderators?

Why "Metalspree" was ignored? Do he or any deserve comments like growup, don't be anal(Posts deleted from thread) just because highlighting a mods thread?

First of all i was expecting this.
All i have to say is that the shooting of the pic wasn't perfect, while OP was trying to get a better view of the item, he mmight have missed out his name, thats it.

There is nothing to make this scene. Come on guys why are you all after this mod, is this revenge or what.

And NO, Rules are for one and all, same goes for mods

Yes of course, was there any doubt on this ?

Anyway I guess the intention there was to provide a macro shot of the buds so that the buyer can judge the condition of the iems, was any post deleted previously for something like that ?

^^ I don't think so. But the photo in question serves the purpose... Just like you have said. :)

That said, knowing how strict Mephistopheles has been with the Market Threads, I would like to see what he has to say about this. :P

^^ Lol No one has made a scene... yet!! :P

And OP just asked a harmless question... a doubt he had... Nothing wrong with it IMO.

>>when "Metalspree" pointed out violation in thread itself he received bad remarks(All posts deleted)

This surly looks incorrect.

It is clearly visible if you want it to be, the date cannot be 8th May, 201 and its quite apparent that it infact is 8th May, 2011. I'll say it once again - Grow up.

Yes there is, and there is pretty much nothing you can do about it :|

I hope the doubt or rather the 'harmless question' has been answered.

Agree with the date part... But I am shocked and surprised with the highlighted part... :O

Yep... It has been answered but the answer raises a few new and 'less harmless' questions...

No mate, actually this discussion already took place in that FS thread, but some one deleted those post, so said so because that discussion is again brought up here

Oh are you really? :|

^^ What is wrong with you?? IMO, You were never a person who was indifferent to healthy criticism...

Atleast till the time you were made a Moderator. But things have obviously changed after that, I guess...

^^ It is better that this discussion be here... And who is 'sumone' who deleted those posts?? I think only Mods can do that.

@neha, thats what i said someone means mods deleted it. IMHO i don't think this is thing for which a thread should be started.

@Mephistopheles

No sir, date is not clearly visible and i don't believe in predictions.
Yes there is, and there is pretty much nothing you can do about it
Why would I do anything or have any issue with that? Please clear your doubts, if any. Intention of this thread is to see whether the mods are exempted or not:P And I wonder why you showoff that privilege.
I hope the doubt or rather the 'harmless question' has been answered.

Yes Sir, the harmless question has been answered that the mods do have exemption in rules. If I took it wrong, please clarify.

Let me be clear. Rules are rules, be it a mod or a member. That said, can someone point at any one instance where a thread was deleted because of such a pic? A thread is deleted when there is only one pic, or pics without a userid/date tag or when only one of the pics carries the tag. I personally have seen plenty of threads with pics similar to the one reported in this thread. Please don't make a mountain out of a molehill just 'coz the OP happens to be a mod.

We have always been a tad lenient with some rules; there are members who still post their user id/ date in a printed form rather than a handwritten note, several members had/have posted pics such as the one in this thread, some members post ultra low resolution pics taken from a mobile cam... This is just one such instance.

>> someone means mods deleted it.

>>>> when "Metalspree" pointed out violation in thread itself he received bad remarks(All posts deleted)

I think its not ethical to delete some one post just because they tell you some problem in your original post.(unless the post is irrelevant or against the rules)

Now if someone is just doing thing for the sake of it, I would rather prefer to put a warning in the post itself. (But will be careful to remove the post as it may lead to similar results like this post, especially if I am the mod for that section).

I am interested in this thread only to know if the Mods enjoy a privilege as regards TE Rules. Whether or not they are exempt from the TE Rules.

Like I said before, the Date issue is not so big and the photo serves the purpose.

Appreciate the insights you have provided. So, what have you got to say about the above quote (the one above yours!)??

Ignore the emotional outburst.. I guess he's posted that out of frustration of being targeted several times over the past couple of weeks, rather than meaning it truthfully.

I am all for bashing someone. If he deserves it.

I never talked/interacted to that mod personally and personally hate kissing ass in real life let alone in online :rofl:world.

@virus

This thread is just un necessary and kinda ganging up on the him. I have seen 1 of the times of the pic he warned and it was not clear.
In this case any normal person can and will understand the picture. Just becoz he is being a hard ass doesnt mean other should be.
kinda makes your point moot right.

@mephisto..

Show some respect to others word also. Being arrogant/mod is not making u look good right now. Referring to your comments in this thread alone.

I have even ignored certain threads which had just one picture with the username and ID, and the other picture was without it.

Google satire, It was quite obvious that section mods aren't exempted from any rules.

I might have been a bit unreasonable with my response, I apologize for it. Wasn't thinking clearly at that time.

But, opening a thread for this is clearly not the way to go about things. Acts like these show how much members appreciate the work mods do.
