TE Voter ID registration drive

Unfortunately till date I do not have a voter Id card and I have never voted ever. But seeing how this UPA d1cks are fcking this country, I want to get a voter I'd so I can next time vote against them.
But the process of voter id might not be straightforward for many. So we can use this thread to pledge to get their voter id ASAP and vote next time.
So if people who have recently got new voter I'd to explain the process of getting a voter I'd and ensure that our name 9th there in voter list.

Election Commission will announce Dates then you can actually apply for an Voter id card.
I applied through Election commission website > had to upload photo, They accepted it and but till date didn't received the card.
A month back a Guy came who was registering Names for Voter Cards.. I asked him about my card.. We will supply it to your home in coming days( no ETA!)
Albeit i can vote by showing my PAN CARD or Driving license as ID proofs. So No issues.

After applying online, u need to print and submit it at the closest office..

I don't think you just crossed 18. Its very sad to know that aware people like you don't take voting seriously .

Btw, online system don't work as expected most of the time. So, i suggest you find you local BLO(Booth Level Officer) and he may guide you further to get the process completed. Generally you have to get a form and fulfill all the details and have to submit it to the BLO.

The procedure is pretty simple. Fill in the form with basic details, print it out and submit it at the nearest office (the site gives you that information as well). I am mandating this for all my team in the office. We all need to move ahead of being facebook junkies / keyboard warriors. Seriously !

I figured out that since i stay in Aundh, Pune, my constituency is Shivajinagar-209 and as per the jaagore website the address to submit the form is

Does anyone know where exactly this place is ? May be a google maps link would be great.
 
In Chandigarh, the people from the Electoral office come to each house personally, note down your details and take a passport photo of yours and then after a few days you get your Voter Card. They do this drive every year. Also around the time of elections they have their officials at every govt school in every sector( there is a govt school in every sector in Chandigarh) where you can go and fill out the form, in case they missed you in the drive.
 
There is a slight problem in the form submission of from the jagroe website at least as far as Chennai is concerned.

My application was printed in English, they did not accept it and said it has to be in Tamil, so I had to get another form from the office and rewrite the details all over again and submit it.The application submission cutout slip was handed back and I was told to come after a month and collect it. But after 3 weeks of the form submission the PDF electoral list was available online and I could do a EPIC search, to check out for any errors as such. To run through the PDF electoral list you need to clearly know your ward/ taluk/ constituency. The whole process was quick.

No verification happened. Only submitted 2 photos, my passport copy as ID proof, my telephone and bank statement as Address proof.

Jaagore FTW. Had got my card using the information available on the same page.
Btw @raksrules , maybe you could follow Vashishta's example and mandate it for your team too. Specially considering the great Suresh Kalmadi had won the previous election seat from Pune with a some 30% voting ;)

The procedure was after submitting officials/people working under Election commission would come to your home and verify and to my surprise it got approved first and verification was done later. I didn't provide any documents nor they asked.

This. Every fecking NaMo supporter/UPA hater i've seen is just one of these people who "likes" status on FB and Retweet's shite on Twitter. They don't vote (for whatever the reason) and then crib for another 5 years. That shite gets me no end!


On topic:
I got my voter ID card done when I had just turned 18 (I've already voted in 2 times - assembly and GE). At the time (8 years ago) there was some kind of collaboration between EC and the post offices. I submitted my form online, then some guy from post office came over to my place for verification (docs, address etc pretty much like a passport verification) Once that was done, I had to go to a booth they had set up and got my voter ID card in about 30 minutes.

I don't know what the scheme was called, nor do I know if it still exists, but can you guys take a look at the EC and post office website and see if such a thing exists?

Because I messaged the mods in capital letters..

Also a guy(read the iPhone cheat thread) randomly left me negative bazaar feedback so i left him negative feedback too..

So i got a 3 day ban for the feedback and i sent a message in caps...
 
The People there are not at all friendly. You get all sorts of warnings for every post. That's why it always stayed after TE. I avoid it to max extent.
