I think TE should come up with something as tomshardware charts and more.

Let people select a game/app, their CPU, RAM and GPU, and let the tool calculate the min, avg and max FPS or performance along with the performance in terms of percent.

The tool should also be able to compare 2 components/systems.

This hasn't be done by anybody yet and will surely further the fame and glory of TE.

What I am saying is completely different.

The user gets to choose the app, the CPU, RAM, GPU each individually and the software should calculate and generate a complete report of its performance etc.

ok problem, i could not make any sense..... he gets to choose the hardware???? how does the hardware get to run on non-existing hardware. I and the TE admins are working out butts off to make it possible for just the CPU + RAM + Chipset.... you are welcome to pitch in for the graphics component..... :D

Let me explain.

The user first chooses the app/game.

He then chooses the CPU, not necessarily what he posses.

Similarly the RAM, and GPU.

He can also compare multiple setups and/or multple games/apps thus making a comparison.

Obviously the app won't run on the hardware, but you would have already made a database with all the possible situations thus covering everything. For further accuracy if he still wants to run the app, you can make a provision for this as well.

Is this something too difficult to create, over the next few weeks hopefully?

Abe who the hell is gona arrange all hardware required to create this accurate comparison. Who is gona test all that. And who is gona maintain that...

Toms is professional review site. TE is not.

dude TE has a lot of folks, more than toms has, each of us can do our testing from whatever we have to make the list as complete as possible.

^^ how does that even make sense to you????????

You need uniformity to compare the systems. Say when comparing memory you should have rest of the system identical.

2 person having exact same setup is rarity. The tests should be carried out in identical conditions. Fresh install, fully patched windows etc etc.

Its not gona happen like this. And even if its made it will be inconsistent comparison.
