In this thread i will quickly explain to you the basics of the warning/alert system we have in place on this forum.
As you are aware, the warning/alert system has been put in place to forewarn the users found not complying with the forum rules. The warning/alert system is an effective tool to prevent such incidents.
The present warning types are
The above also shows the warning points associated along with the warn maturity which is the time period for which those points will be associated once you get the warn. After the warn maturity, the warn points for that warning will be removed. However the warn points for other warnings recieved whose maturity has not been reached will continue to remain associated with you.
Apart from warns, you may also recive an alert. An alert is a mild form of warn. It does not have any warning points associated with it. But you will have a message in your postbit in red for 2 days once you have been alerted. The reason for the alert will be communicated via pm.
In the unfortunate event you do get an alert or a warning, you will get a pm/email like this. You are free to reply back incase you have any disputes.
As far as the warning goes, the warned posts will be clearly indicated via a red warn sign as shown
The following are the automatic actions that are taken based on your warning points.
0 to 14 - Warn points in postbit visible to all.
15 to 19 - Signature disabled in forums
20 to 24 - Avtar disabled
25 to 29 - pm's disabled.
30 warn points - 2 day automatic ban
At any given time, you can view your warning status, if any from the quick links dropdown in navbar.
The warn system comes into effect from May 19th midnight (GMT time)
