Can anyone please tell me how and what technical specifications one should check before buying a TFT ,monitor?

What would be normal technical specifications for a samsung 19" TFT monitor?:huh:

Static Contrast Ratio [at least 800~1k:1]; Response time [<5ms]; Type of inputs [DVI and VGA], Native resolution [1440x900; sometimes even 1680x1050!!], Viewing angles [~ >170' on either sides ideally];

Apart from these as Sidhu suggested, the customer service [Viewsonic's pathetic as we've heard from a lot of them], brand tag and the comparative pricing of ~ LCDs.
