I recently (12-Apr) bought AMD Athlon II X3 440 (Rs.3300) + Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H (Rs.4300) + Corsair 2GB DDRIII 1333MHz VS2GB1333D3 G (Rs.1050/1200) from lamington road.
Q:
I wonder what is idle CPU Temperature ? & fan speed ?
I found w/o doing any oc Just running as is i found my CPU temperature is 55 deg C @ 6250 rpm. Very Noisy.
No.s are from BIOS as well from HW monitor. mostly identical.

Don't think ok ?
or should dump stock cooler & go for something else ... Any Suggestion ..

if you can, check what volts your mobo is giving to processor.

it will given on core temp.

if you want total silent,go for corsair h50 .

i am on athlon x4 635 and i have idle temp of 38 on cooler master tx3 and also check your case fans.

my pc is

amd athlonII x4 635

asus m4a 785dm pro

seaget 500 gb @33 c

wd10ears @35c

corsair cx400

nzxt gamma and

cm tx3 cpu cooler.

idle temp is 38 39c for cpu

at 100 % load for hours,i dont cross 50c

solution for you is either check your volts and check if your heat sink is properly seated.

AMD's Secret Plan To Educate ppl about CPU & Overclocking - Bad Quality Stock Cooler

1) Enable cool'n quiet. It'll reduce the core speed and voltage while idling, lowering temps quiet a bit.
2) Make sure your cabinet is getting enough ventilation. How many fans do you have in your system? Where's the cabinet placed?
3) Your temps are bound to be on the higher side during summer. 10-15 degrees above ambient isn't unusual on a stock cooler.
4) I don't think your PSU fan will switch on till you hit something like 70-80% load, so it won't exhaust the hot air your cpu emits, so make sure you've added extra fans to the cabinet.

ur vcore voltage seems to be pretty high,u shud try undervolting from ur bios which shud drop ur temp considerably...

All theses are Optimized Defaults readings Should I go for Fail-Safe Defaults from BIOS.

btw I am new to Clocking ( Over & Under also )

can you elaborate give exact values

I just tried unlocking 4th core as curiosity for a while it shows Phenom II X4 for same but then loaded Optimized Defaults from BIOS Just 1/2 an hour.

Is it ok ? Are these permalinks ?

that is a bit disturbing, because even in delhi heat, while outside tems hit 47C, my house thankfully(no AC in computer room, doors closed, fan full) stays under 42C according to thermometer...

At that ambient, my procc still hits only 49C to 54C load(max 54C)

One question, for me CPUID doens't show "POWERS" for the processor. Is it because the motherboard doesn't have the feature? ASUS 785G TD_V EVO

just boot into ur bios,in my mobo the voltage settings are under "MB Intelligent Tweaker",u check in ur board where these settings lie...

then in "CPU voltage control" just decrease it by a few notch ,start with 0.1 and u can go all the way upto 0.3...but after every change in the bios try to do a stability test,to see if ur system is stable.

since u have a giga mobo, there must be an easytune software that came with it...

it's much easier to do it from there...u need to click on 'tuner' tab then go to 'advance' mode

then go to 'voltage' n then u can change the 'vid' voltage settings from there too

Hi,

880GM-UD2H seems to have problem with VCORE voltages, i too faced similar problem, 1.50 is way too high for the CPU,

go into bios, select MB Intelligent Tweaker > system voltage control : change to manual, this will drop the vcore to 1.45 v

also go into advanced bios features and change cool and quiet to auto, this will drop u r temps significantly

had a similar problem, seems to be common issue with this board

I tried Energy Saver Soft by GB Seams it works CPU temp Reduced to 44C from 63C @ ~5973 RPM from 10384 yes 10384 you heard Watages also Reduced to ~38 W from 106 W

after viewing the pic, i think there might be some issue with HWmonitor, how come one core is drawing 38W and another 100+W of power and the fan rpm is very very high 10k+ (is that a cpu cooler of or some sort of machine. )

I will suggest you to get lavalys Everest and post a screen-shot of that

@ CA50
Tried 4 diff Softwares 1. BIOS 2. HW Monitor 3. Easy Tune 6 4. Core Temp 0.99.8
mostly identical values. Will also try Everest also

btw what is this TMPIN 0,1,2in HW Monitor having 88,94,63C Temp Max

one observation SAMSUNG 1 TB hdd is 8-10 deg cooler than WD 160 GB HDD :cool2:

This TMPIN is the most confusing part of HWmonitor, it may refer to the power section of your mobo. And about your HDD temps, airflow might be the reason for such a difference in HDD temps, cool air might be blown on the Samsung 1TB HDD so is the less temps :)

@OP:

Are you able to register temperatures using CoreTEMP..?

HWMonitor is kind of buggy. Not so reliable anymore.

or it might just be that his 160 gig hdd is an old model, which used to run pretty hot...i had one which went upto like 60C!!!!

even then 10C difference is way to high. And better to maintain the HDD temps under 45-50c, good for HDD(s) :)

op.. plz back off your vcore its way to high for a Athlon II. you should never exceed vcore @ 1.45v if you want your cpu to last.

Your temps at load are very good especially considering how high your ambients are.
