:rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Just came back home after giving a test drive; The 2L TCDi variant;

I'm out of words to describe the car; :rolleyes:

I've driven the Civic but sadly could not feel the 130 odd horses in it; :(

Poor ground clearance as well; This one'd a sexy ground clearance; :D

0-100kmph in around less than 12 seconds; :rolleyes:

The technician promises a fuel efficeincy of roughly 13kmpl with the AC on which's again pretty decent;

A much better alternative to the Civic; :)

Over n out;

Diesel pwns!! :eek:hyeah:

modern Turbo D's are a kick in the (where it hurts :p) for most petrolheads. awesome torque ( inherent diesel advantage) + awesome power( common rail advantage) = Pwnage :devil2:

EDIT:+ pete's box, it should be even quicker ;)

Yes but at a cost of efficiency; :p

Oh man, i still cant believe the cost's only 10L on-road;

Poor Octavia and Laura owners; :lol:

actually someone @ t-bhp who tried the box on a swift D found that despite him ripping his ride a lot more ( natural side effect :p) , it still had the same mileage. The box is a ECU remap actually :)

The Magnum is a better deal than the Civic no doubt. Better ride, more space and no bottom scraping issues. The things it lacks though are driveability in the city stop/go traffic due to severe turbo lag, refinement, brakes and handling. Since the chassis was originally designed for a petrol, the car is front heavy with a diesel engine which essentially means handling goes for a toss. The power band is extremely narrow... begins at 2k and ends at around 3.5k which basically means its over as quickly as it begins.

Frankly other than the mountain of torque, the car is boring to drive. Call me old fashioned but I prefer naturally aspirated, high revving petrols :D.

It's not that big an issue. I've learnt to keep the turbo on its toes by keeping the revs above 1.8 in mine. You'll just need to get used to it and change your style ;)

How do you do it in traffic without rear ending the car in front :p. Amongst all the turbodiesels i've driven, the only few i really liked are the swift, octy and fiesta cos most of them are still driveable without the turbo spooling up. The rest are as slow as dogs when the turbo ain't spooled up.

Lower gear :p? and since its diesel, i really dont care much about FE

Eh... I was talking about bangalore type crawling traffic... you can't reach 1800 rpm straightaway in such traffic and whether you like it or not you'll be in the lag zone :p. Thats the most painful bit in a turbo diesel IMHO.

Seriously speaking I haven't drive Optra Magnum as well as Verna

But was imagining would verna be competitive enough for the Magnum, considering all the above discussion

Non sense.. Wont even come close.. :|

Dude, the Magnum 2L engine is a godsent in that vehicle at a that price;

Performance is something I cant explain in words; give a test drive; :)

:hug:
People should buy a car if they can afford petrol- else ride a bicycle. :gap:
Just cause a mule has more torque than a stallion doesn't mean i ride it for some fast paced action. :rofl:
And petrol smells better than diesel imho- I am kinda addicted to it. :ashamed:
