Does anyone know where I can get audio test tones, for example only left channel, only right channel, 30hz, 250hz etc. This should be pretty useful to test speakers / sound cards and the audio system setup on a PC.

If u have a creative sound card then with creative surround mixer you can test your speaker channels.

My Creative SBLive Value 5.1 has it .

If you just wanna generate sound of different frequencies, just use foobar. In the open location dialog, enter

tone://<freq>

where <freq> is the frequency you wish to generate. (replace with 20 for 20Hz or 20000 for 20 kHz)

well if u have a good card u shud get a demo disc,i have a dvd audio demo sampler disc which is jus mind blowing:P
and a sampler disc, showing me effects of thx, dts,DD,eax advanced hd n stuff

wut kind of card/speakers r u looking at here

Actually, what I thought they might be useful for is things like testing the freq response of your sound card + speaker ( like can you hear a 50hz sample on your system ? ). Also, it may point out errors in set up ( left speaker connected to the right ;-) ).
I did find some samples here :
