Linux Text Editor?

Which one do u think is the best..

in my opinion its the emacs?

Hmm, there are several good ones, but my favourite graphical text editor is NEdit. For commandline, nothing can beat vi

EDIT - there is another very good one - nano.

Now in mostly all Linux distros this is always set

alias vi=`vim`

i dont have a personal installation of *nix at home, but i have used only the Vi editor, thus i voted for that.

the only text editor i used was VI in SCO Unix :S dunno abt Linux tho.

i think kedit is good as well as nedit,

real hardcore nix geeks will always use vi editor bcoz they like to do challenging stuff on thier nix box. I find vi easy to use but u may not bcoz it is command line editor.

so noobies use kwrite,nedit and all such silly graphical editors. :tongue:
