TF2 and L4D keep crashing my system

Been playing TF2 and L4D for months without any problems untill after my summer holiday, after i returned home in august I was not able to play TF2 or L4D anymore because it keeps crashing my pc every second, it just restarts my pc because iI have BSOD turned of. Sometimes they crash in menu and other times after 10/15 mins, it is not an overheating issue because ive been monitoring the temperatures, I thought it was a problem with full hardware acceleration but ive tried putting it back to basic but that didnt help either, ive updated my gfx drivers but thats didnt solve anythign either, even rolling back to an older driver did not work. So im clueless and desperately need help, I really hope someone can help me here.

Not much info here, Does it every crashwhen you are not playing games?

How about some other game or application other than l4d or tf2.

Let me know the answer to these questions and maybe something may come up.
 
It doesnt crash when im playing other games, its just L4D and TF2, sometimes it does crash when im browsing with IE but that doesnt seem to happen very often maybe once a month or so.

been playing batman arkham asylum for the last few days and can play that for hours without any problems, hopefully this answered your questions
 
Hmm, ok, that does narrow it down a bit.

So it may just be some Steam related issue. imho, there is nothing specific to the games I fear.

Could you post your OS and build.

Also let me know which graphics card and if you are using the latest stable drivers?
