lol@naveen, my 4890 does 140GB/s @ 1100 mem clock

your 4890 only does 140GB/s.what you are seeing there in GPU Z is that 147GB/s from one GTX285 2GB & each card has 2 of those as it is build by using two PCB's so that's 147*2 i.e 294GB/s this thing smokes your 4890 by a huge margin.

 Okay smarty pants..
First of all, look carefully at the SS, it reads 128GB/s and a 295 not a 285. Secondly RAM DOES NOT DOUBLE UP IN SLI
Still feeling cocky?

PS - My card can do upto 153GB/s max at 1200 mem clock, now suck on that b1tch :p

And you can't buy this thing (Mars) in India... if you import it you will have to pay at least Rs 60,000 for that :p

4890 sells for Rs 15,000.

BTW, this is a 58XX thread so talk about your Dual GTX285 sh*t somewhere else.

Well, then i think 5870 won't even sweat at 2560..:)

HD 4890 is at 13k BTW.... even better..

The those power numbers anywhere near truth, then that's amazingly impressive !!! Good going DAMMIT!!! Now do something about reducing the (albeit rumored) prices. :p

On the other note... Naveen's arguments feel so like Deja-vu, looks like we are going to see another nVidiot-going-berserk-around-Radeon-launch episode all over again. I'm sure many people knows/remembers what I'm talking about !!

AnandTech has some news:

That's six Dell 30" displays, each with an individual resolution of 2560 x 1600. The game is World of Warcraft... Driving all of this is AMD's next-generation GPU, which will be announced later this month. I didn't leave out any letters, there's a single GPU driving all of these panels. The actual resolution being rendered at is 7680 x 3200; WoW got over 80 fps with the details maxed.

I played Dirt 2, a DX11 title at 7680 x 3200 and saw definitely playable frame rates. I played Left 4 Dead and the experience was much better. Obviously this new GPU is powerful, although I wouldn't expect it to run everything at super high frame rates at 7680 x 3200.

lol mohit , ram doesnt double up , but bandwidth does , my 295 oced reaches over 300gb/sec . in sisoft gpu bandwidth benchmark it gave around 190GB/sec .

morgoth, nApoleon@chiphell (the source of the marks) just said that those scores were made on an highly OC'ed A11 silicon, retail is using slower clocked A12. So the fps from the retail cards will be lower.

Guyz i have got something from Nvidia that you'll like.it's also more powerful than this card.

Naveen, ASUS MARS costs close to two 5870 and still doesn't perform much better than 1 .. but don't worry, I ve something else 4m Nvidia, that'll beat 2 of these :p

U'll just need a PSU with 11 8-pin connectors to run this

will vx 450 be able to handle a single 5870??

For an OCed i7 with 6GB RAM n the regular other stuff with 5870, 40Amps on the 12V rail is required.

So a VX550 would be perfect.

But to answer Ur question, we need the rest of Ur system specs.

Just read the AT article about eyefinity... can't believe a single GPU driving six 30" displays... that's like six times of 2560x1600, which is ridiculous resolution of 7680x3200. Not only that, but running WoW at that resolution, at max settings, at 80FPS is impressive itself.

Man, can't wait for NDA to go and reviews starts flowing in. :p

Official- RV870 is > 2.5 times faster than RV770..

well, thats more than 150% faster than RV770..

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. is claiming for the first time in several years that its upcoming line of graphics chips surpasses that of rival Nvidia Corp.

AMD, which has been going head-to-head with Nvidia since acquiring graphics-chip maker ATI Technologies several years ago, said during a demonstration Thursday that its next generation of graphics chips -- which are used to simulate three-dimensional environments in videogames and other applications -- will offer speeds 2.5 times faster than models AMD introduced last year.

^^ Dude, HD4890 X2(CFx) beats GTX295, isn't it obvious that something lime HD5870 with core clock 850MHz and everything double of HD4890(like a HD4890X2 if there was, only with 190W TDP), will atleast come close to GTX295, if not beat it, and for a good 5-7k lesser.
