What's the best 32" LCD (not LED) TV for gaming ? I plan to connect my computer to it for use as a regular monitor but I'm not sure which one i should get.

It's main use will be for use of 3d applications and for gaming.

yeeeahhh.. but i mentioned in my first post that I didn't want an LED TV to save money. Anything else?

Model names would be much appreciated because I'm a noob with HDTVs.

Sony BE3 TVs do not allow you to use HDMI signal as PC input. It treats it as a video signal causing fuzzy text and it does not map 1:1 with the set resolution (this is biggest problem with all current Sony LCD TVs :()

VGA will work but wont be as good as HDMI would have been.

All Sony LCDs upto BE2 worked just fine, then sony decided they dont care if people use their TVs as monitors anymore and made this critical change

Otherwise the TV is great for videos and movies. you wont notice any issue playing videos and movies even through PC. Its desktop use (browser, text, basically any 2D desktop work)

This is the reason I stopped recommending BE3 TVs to everyone for desktop use. You can reconfirm this its a 1 line print in manual.

Myself and Shripad both have burnt our hands with BE3 TVs because of this 1 flaw in this television after buying it.

@Arun, I would recommend the Samsung 5 Series 32" if you want cheap

But it can work for me coz I have to connect Only PS3.

can u tell me its exact model no.???

@Udit - I cannot clearly understand the problem u r facing. I have the 40" v Series. I connect my Laptop to the this TV for watching HD movies etc . I connect the HDMI port on my Laptop with the HDMI port on the TV through a HDMI wire. Text is perfectly clear and so it everything else. Though the resolution was changed to 13** X 768.

the problem is with 1920x1080
also only the Sony BX, EX, NX & models ending with 550 face the bug

thanks udit, but the 2 links of the TV's i got don't have any prices for them and I'm not even sure about their availability.

i think i'll go in for the 5 series instead, unless there's a big difference between the 6 series and 5 series that i don't know of.

So what u r trying to say it that it truncates the picture when u go in for 1920*1080 Mode(as in it reduces it to 1366 * 768 )? Does this happen even when u choose input as PC?

I'm saying at 1920x1080 it smudges text & causes a terrible headache

PC input can only be chosen if you use the VGA/D-Sub port which doesn't suffer the bug but using the analog VGA/D-Sub port with a digital HDMI Port available feels weird

try for C550 & if you don't get it buy the B550 (both are 5 series) :)
