18 miles is still a lot for a single ride. (wait, that should be 21! don't know where I got the 18 mile number from.) I am usually dead after a 7 mile ride. :p
 
All bikers out there need your help.I am looking for a decent bike for commuting.I am in NZ .I have no clue what should be my budget or what bike i should be looking at ??

Edit: AFAIK bike are pretty expensive in this country :mad:.Can bike be brought from US and shipped to NZ :S

One more thing.I am 6.2" and heavily built:ashamed:
 
metal in ur height ur lookin @ a large frame.. 21 probably .. and also just for pavement rides.. hybrid bikes or road bikes r supposed to be best (they work the smoothest) u can also go for a good hardtail mountain bike. both bikes will handle ur weight n size .. u just have go out n try them n see which u like best.. for me thin tyres of the hybrid bikes was what put me off.. but alot of people ive spoken to say they r fairly easy to ride on. so at the end ull know which one u like once u go take a trial on all of em

what id advise u is to first look for local shops and go n ask them the same question... they will advise you accordingly and u will also have local repair support just incase anything goes wrong with ur bike... u dont want a badly setup bike.. coz thatll just be lying in ur garage and ull hate riding it.

bike was 20k. The black colored stand was for 600 and the one on the road bike is a Minoura DS-80 bought from Keny for 1200, its way better
