Considering Blizzard's World of Warcraft expansion pack The Burning Crusade sold 2.4 million copies in its first day on sale, it's entirely possible some gamers haven't been able to find a copy at their local game retailers. Regardless of the game's popularity at brick-and-mortar stores, WOW addicts can now get their Burning Crusade fix without having to drive to the store, much less get up out of their favorite office chairs.

Blizzard today updated the official World of Warcraft Web site with news that The Burning Crusade is now available as a direct online upgrade for the game. To download the game, players just need to login to their World of Warcraft accounts, click the Burning Crusade "download now" button, and pay the $39.99 price of admission with a credit card.

Wait a few more months and they'll start selling it like the trial account schemes they had for WoW. Dl the whole game for a free 19 day trial, then upgrade through a credit card if you like it.

if you are a wow player you have no choice but to get burning crusade. it's NOT optional even though it is :P you won't get access to a whole lot if you don't have BC installed and you'll be a sitting duck at 60 to a lvl 70 player even if you've got full tier 3.

yep thats what i've heard. someone was complaining that a wow character who has been at level 60 for a year would stand no chance against a burning crusade player.

blizzard is plenty smart :bleh:

of course. what good is your 60 gear even if it's the best for that level against a lvl 70 who will resist 75% of your spells.
