The Crab rules again!

Wow, and you can tell the difference?

Sorry, I dont have sharp ears like urs to make out a day-night difference or neither M I an Audiophile; :)

Nor do I pursue a career in something related to Audio;

But anyhow the environment/pitch shift/virtualisation effects are a tad better in Azalia;

After using the Azalia in Asus boards and Realtek in my present abit board, I could say that; :P

Not to mention the user interface is a tad better with Azalia; :P

My dog agrees.... on the first point.

Seriously though..virtualization effects are the best way to determine quality? I think you should keep safe distance from sangram. Who knows what kind and form of hatred he'll spew for saying that? :P

Any other traits you have in common that we should know of?

Shall let u know if any; :)

Meanwhile I've clearly laid down the fact M no wannabe-audiophile; M happy with what I have; maybe if I develop a taste to improve I shall;

I respect Sangram sir's values and traits; :cool2:

His name reflects it, moreover; :)

no, but gannu, the point is , you cant compare azalia and realtek. Its like saying I prefer DX10 to ATi. Realtek HD audio chips should ( all other things being equal) sound better than an AC '97 chip. in fact my M2A VM's Realtek HD onboard is a few shades better than my old A7N8X's AC 97 realtek chip. but then again, I ran into a very crappy realtek onboard on one of our office PC - a friend was trying to figure out why his newly acquired HD201's sounded like crap. The funny thing was , all the PC's from that batch sounded lame. absolutely no drive, and it distorts like **** if you enable headphone mode , and absolutely now low end.

Boy am i glad my office PC has a sigmatel onboard :D . The sq literally blew him away :bleh: . he was last seen waiting till everyone left to steal a dell system for himself :lol:

seriously, sigmatel chips rock, and now, they'll be as close to onboard audio nirvana as you can get :)

^ afaik all motherboards have onboard audio. Higher end DFI boards comes with a separate Audio module which can be connected if required.
