I recently picked up Midea TORRINO,WQP12-5201F from FK during the sale on 24 dec 24 . I was majorly influended by @MrGordon posts on the usage and cost . For 15.5k if one could remove the maid and achieve better cleanliness with no everyday kich-kich it was a win win situation . Oh man this was one of the purchases in my life that one doesnt want it first but then regret not buying earlier . This was the best purchase in electronics/kitchen ever . I paid 16.4k after precloure of EMI but waiting for another sale was paying the maid another 1500/ . My all other kitchen/Home applicances are smart and from LG which this was not but the price really swayed me
In 11 months I get my moneys worth back . Maid was taking 18k annually for cleaning utensils . Even if it lasts 5 years I will be the happiest guy .... One could argue that additonal expenses of salt / detergent / rinse are also there with electricty but still .
I have seen such clean , steamed , bone dry utensils except good restraunts . The only heartbreaker is when the utesnils come out from dishwasher and you see the scracth / gashes on the expensive glass crockery made by that steel / metal scubber or scotchbrite from old washes by maid , steel utensils I am not counting only . The other con is it totally strips oil coating on wok/ kadhai which you would have painstaking done , so dont wash them . It took out muck on those corners / gaps in handles or the black burnt marks from normal usage which we never though one could . Space is a premium so got the black iron table made and shifted the dishwasher below it

Nobody calculates the water saving, which is much more valuable in terms of global usage.
I experimented with washing under the tap and in the dishwasher. The dishwasher used 16litres for the intensive kadhai cycle and by hand used at least 100 liters for the same vessels. This is considering the tap being normal water and not hard water.
If it is hardware, you would spend even more water. Unfortunately, this is a privilege for the better off and those who can afford while it is actually needed for those need to save more. Weird capitalistic world.

Isn't water essentially free in a lot of India too, so you're just paying for the electricty bill right?

Joke right? 100 ltrs? Thats not even the amount water my family utilizes in a single day! Nor we believe in wasting but we use resources the most efficient way possible be it water, electricity, food etc.
I do my own vessels and cleaning even a tough kadhai I wash well under 6 ltrs.

Doesn't a washing machine use 180 liters per cycle? Our old Samsung does, it's a 6.5kg top load.

Three fills, one wash and two rinse, each 60 liters.

For washing dishes, we got a cheap aerator for the sink and that lowered the water consumption by a lot.

We consume about 200 liters per adult per day all things considered.

Maybe we all like long showers or something, I know I'm showering at least twice a day.

Yup, 100 litres for a 7 member family with 1 kid.
We do use induction and triply without any nonstick.
Weekends is when I get to wash vessels and few weekends it easily reaches 75litres for all 3 times food by hand.

Funny thing, I checked the bucket used for bath and it's only 20litres and I use 1.5 buckets max.

@Arigaytor - water is never free. It seems free for those who get it easily.
I would say you pay at least borewell charges / water meter charges for any type of water (including harvested rainwater with initial setup and storage cost)

We pay for Borewell water electricity bill every month & Corporation Tap water bill every year while paying for property tax in our native town of Nellore, AP.
Nothing is free anywhere & if it free then it must be a scam or a fraud or we are committing a fraud.

Could you spare a few thoughts about What alternatives did you consider? Why did you settled on this?

Update: It looks like it does not retain saved maps. 3 friends have this (diff model make) and we all face same issues till now.

Is this across all ecovacs? I’m also evaluating a robot vaccum after your post, terribly irritated with the maid. ecovacs seems to have mixed reviews, with most people suggesting the software/app is not that great and the company abandons development as soon as a new model is launched.

Need a hybrid vaccum with mopping. Currently considering n30 pro, lowest it has gone down is 55k as per keepa

N10 N20 Pro and one more bot a friend has in the UK. Same feelings... Map feature not great. I'll keep this thread updated. Yeah maids are big no now.

Best price. I got it for around 19k 3 years back, still going strong.

I have the older Deebot Ozmo 950 and it's app (Ecovacs Home) retains saved maps. Not sure if they use the same app now.

I recently purchased Ecovacs Y1 Pro in Flipkart sale for 16k, its good for me. Yes it does saves maps. I have saved 3 maps and i haven't faced any issue till now. Using their own app and interface is also good.
