Video game series nowadays often outlive the consoles themselves, and this has meant that developers have gotten the opportunity to rebuild their games and characters over and over again on new and increasingly powerful hardware for every new generation of consoles.
Whilst games also improve graphically during a consoles lifetime; moving from 1st to 2nd and even 3rd+ generation(s) , the main graphical jumps come during the dawn of each new hardware iteration.
