Our colleagues from PCGamesHardware.de have managed to get their hands on the tech demo of Stalker: Clear Sky in DirectX 10.

According to the article the best way to see the DX10 effects is in smoke, rain and the so-called God rays. The article also includes a 4:31 minute long video that shows the game in action. As we can see from the video, the game has potential to force Crysis into oblivion.

You can check out the screenshots and the video here. The article is in German but you can always use Google translation to get a general idea.

Shucks its just too freaky like the original! Brilliantly created environment, you just sooo feel like your back in the Cold War!

ok for these kinds of DX10 visuals for sure you need minimum a 1 gb video card and 4gb RAM on 64bit Vista

i hope the game play is as good as it looks gud.....
.....coz, the previous installment was a great disappointment...
The first installment was a brilliant game if you had the patience. However it was riddled with way too many bugs and in general felt unpolished. The fact that the difficulty was ridiculously hard made things even worse. I hope they fix those issues with this version.

The high dynamic range effects seem to be absolutely spot on in the video. The best I've seen in any game so far.

Especially in the last level inside the nuclear reactor, it was extremely difficult, considering u needed to deal with hordes of enemies while u r loosing the health due to high levels of radiation!

I hope that 'Clear skies' lives up to the expectations of 'Shadows of Chernobyl'.
