hi!

i recently(2 weeks back) bought a sony vaio for 42 k--specs--t6600@2.2ghz 2gb ddr3 nvidia g210 - 256mb---250gb 5400rpm hdd, and 14 inch screen--gave it to my sister i didn't fancy it too much --was extremely well built but the battery --6 cell--died within 2 hours and 15 mins of usage.

so i thought of getting something really cheap for my office work--came across the msi cr 400x

specs--t6400 @ 2.0ghz

2gb ddr 2 ram

250gb hdd

nvidia 8200 g with 512mb of vram(256 system shared)

14 inch screen

2 years warranty(1 year international warranty)

it cost me 27500rs from ahmedabad this monday

the battery lasts for 2 hours and 55 minutes and the build quality is good and is lighter than the vaio mentioned above.

i am currently running windows 7 ultimate on it and it plays 1080p movies perfectly and i do indulge in a bit of old school gaming--mech warrior 4 and unreal 2003 and nfs hot pursuit 2 and i can max out those games.

its an excellent laptop for 27500rs + i got a very good backpack for 1000rs more --total = 28500rs.

have been busy with work --i will write a detailed review of this laptop soon.

people on a shoe string budget do look into this laptop --its a solid well built laptop at an extremely cheap rate!

ebay has listed the same laptop for 22thousand something with a celeron cpu+2000rs worth of freebies.

i got mine from an exclusive msi dealership in ahmedabad --zion technologies--i got it cheap bcoz i bargained.the dealer was quoting 28000rs and i got it down to 27500rs and for 1000rs extra exchanged the msi leather carrry case for a solid backpack case logic with rubber cushioning at the base.so for 28500rs i got a damn good deal.

t6400 does not support virtualization Intel® Core?2 Duo Processor T6400 (2M Cache, 2.00 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) with SPEC Code(s) SLGJ4

the cpu options available with this laptop are

celeron

dual core t 4200(i think)

t6400

t6500

the rest of the specs are the same.

That's quite good VFM laptop you got there. One question though, Does t6400 support virtualization?

No it doesn't. The specs say so and I personally tested it. But the P8700 does and I think all the P series have VT support.

^thanks for the info dude. I am sure about p series supporting virtualization, but had doubt abot T6400 & T6600.
