Big blobs of thermal energy oozing out of the broken limbs of the akrid insects, Vital Suits and a frozen terrain - it's all back with the newer title of this series! :D

The second installment in the series is set to launch for the PC, X360 and the PS3 on May 2010. Employs the MT Framework 2.0 engine - the superior version of the previous one MT Framework which stressed the then mighty G80GTX card to its limits!

The game is being developed on the PC and ported to consoles which would essentially mean console users would not lose out on the in-game graphics. The PC users with the top-of-the-line specs would definitely have an edge here!

Let all the in-game discussions previews/trailers/tweaks on LP2 (pronounced Lost Planet Squared!) happen in this thread.

Unfortunately, the frozen areas have gone away and it's all Jungle and Desert locations, from what I have seen.

This game doesn't seem to feature the first game's protagonist, Wayne. So looks like it's a fresh new start. The 360 demo has really promising, but had stupid ass control scheme (which could not be customised). I think this game will turn out to be a blast to complete in co-op, going by the demo. The boss fights are huge, almost 5 times bigger than the previous game and hence you would need co-op help to get the job done faster.

The gameplay elements seemed to be retained from the previous game. You can also mount into nearby mechs for providing more damage. I wanted to try the PS3 demo as it had an extra level in there and also the multiplayer demo that just came out. I wanted to see how the graphics were for the jungle level.

The PC version is really something to look forward to as it would have better frame rates and visual enhancements. Hope they specify a date soon enough.
