i think i'll go for e62

i dont need camera

but toxicmind how slow it is?

will it run gtalk smoothly....will i be able to do voice chat..

i get abt 100kbps bandwidth over edge network...so network is not a issue

any idea of the gtalk symbian software and compatibility with symbian 9.1??

plzz gimme any link to such software free downloadable

i have heard the browsing is good on it

also i have to buy a sd card

it is supposed to support 2gb

should i go for 2gb or 1gb?

coz one of my friend suggested that phones if comes with 2gb support then better not to go for more than 1gb otherwise it becomes very slow

any input here?

As far as i know... if your phone has atleast 25mb free internal memory you can go for more then1gb card. But again it depends on which phone you use. Like in case of symbian phones many not only listen to songs ,they also run various applications stored in card which can slow down the phone. one more issue with symbian phones is they run lot of processes in the background(deamon processes). so i suggest u to go for 1 gb card if less internal memory.

any good phone for 13-13.5k max ??.camera or music both are not a priority..but still a better cam is preferred as the friend has a Ipod ..

he wants something that is stylish..and sleek..

hows the xpress music 5610 ?..how much is it sellin for ??

well it all depends on what you want out of it..

since the iphone is more of an exclusive 'gadget' ,it does miss out on a few features a high end mobile phone should have..

the viewty on the other hand is more of a phone than a gadget,a good 3G & camera phone for that matter(5MP cam!) and has a bunch of handy features you'll miss on the iphone..

So..

If it's exclusivity,style & the basic functionalities you want get the iphone..

else get the LG Viewty !

key features:

Iphone:

+uber-cool

+great user interface

+WiFi

+Touch&pinch feature,BIG Display

+4/8gb memory

LG Viewty:

+good user interface,touchscreen

+amazing 5MP AF/Flash cam

+100mb memry + MicroSD slot for expansion

that said..its upto you now !

(P.s: if $$$ ain't a constraint,might as well try out the iphone for sometime)

the nokia 5610 xpress music is a great phone..retails for bout 13k

key features:

+decent 3.2mp AF cam

+3G

+microSD expnsn slot

+slide form factor

+Not Symbian(so faster than those)

a good balance of imaging & music..

apart from that..

for both music&cam i'd suggest the good old SE W810i(9.8k)

and just for the camera,a SE K790i(12k) !

sleek n stlyish among these :5610 !

so u decide..

1.wavetel's quoting Rs.9379 on its web and the price is right.

smaller shops will sell it for a 100bucks lesser..

2.the E62 has 90mb of intrnl mem & support for microSD cards of upto 2gb..

It ain't a multimedia phone so i'm assuming you won't be using this to listen to music & definitely not takin photos(NO CAM!)..so if u basically aren't going to load much into ur phone the 90mb memory will do...if not ,buy a SanDisk 1gb microSD and that will suffice !

3.symbian versions of both gtalk & skype(not sure if its suppported here) will run perfectly on the phone..

The E50 is a great business phone and intends to be just that..

Pros:

symbian is quite fast!

got a 1.3mp cam

gprs & edge

70mb mem + microSD slot(upto 2gb)

bluetooth & IR

Cons:

No 3G !

vid recording ain't that good(but it aint a multimedia phone anyway)

Retails for around 8k..

and if you really want more..there's the new E51 for bout 12.2k!!

why is it better ??

well,it's a 3g phone(3.6 Mbps),2MP cam,16m display,130mb memory+microSD(upto 4gb) !!!

whichever you choose..get the black one,it just STANDS APART !!

im planning to buy a new phone..

My budget is between 5K-7K
I'm looking for a phone with the following features:
Atleast 2 MP camera, giving decent quality pics
Bluetooth v2.0 + EDR, yea i need EDR (2.1 Mbps) and i can't find out which phone supports this, i've heard many phones have v2.0 but don't support EDR.
EDGE would be great
Fast responsive interface
and Java MIDP 2.0 ofcoz

Please recommend me a good phone.

frankly thats asking for too much for too lil($$$)...

anywys..

mentioned below are the only phones in india with Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR :

1.Nokia 2630 (midp 2,vga cam,edge c6,better looking,11mb/no mem slot- 4.3k)

2.Nokia 2760 (java midp 2.1,vga cam,video player,edge c10,10mb/no mem slot - 3.9k)

3.SE K630i (coming soon)

4.SE K850 (20.2k!!!)

5.Moto Q9h (25.2k!!!)

so do revise your requirements if you want something in that range..

I am not sure about EDR...
but for the other set of features.. u have nokia 3500 (6.3K)
Nokia 6233 (7.8K) - the best at 7-8K price point
for better quality of pics.. SE K550 (8.1K) or W700 (8.7K)

If you are planning to but a 2GB stick or somethin.. Nokia's micro SD cards are cheaper than Sony's M2 memory cards

nokia beating SE walkman phones with new range?

sony erricsson has been the king of music playback with their walkman range of phones,thanks to quality headphones they provided.with nokia not too far with N series.Recently nokia released Express music handsets
5310 & 5610 with dedicated DAC33 Audio chip for music playback.where as walkmans have remained same on hardware front just that they made software tweaks write from walkman player version 1 to 3 thus adding new features but the audio quality has remained almost same.Now as per mobile-review.com,the 5310 & 5610 are much better music phones then walkman counterparts.nokia is already ahead with better dislpay and more connectivity features,& now could become a true leader eating walkmans market share.what do u guys think?
