These are your current options :

Samsung L700 ~ 6.6K* (2.1" Disp, 2MP Cam, Steel finish)
SE G502 ~ 6.8K* (2" Disp, 2MP Cam, Decent all-rounder)
Samsung M3510 Beat ~ 7.3K* (2" Disp, 2MP Cam, Music Phone, 3.5mm jack)
SE W395 ~ 7.3K* (2" Disp, 2MP Cam, Music Phone)

Hope you make up your mind.

@TTM: My friend needs a mobile within 7K. Only flip or slider. Slider preferred. Thinner the better; basically a mobile that has the looks. Decent cam and music playback. Doesn't matter if its Nokia or SE or Samsung.

HE's currently looking at Samsung U600, which has a 3.15 MP autofocus cam, and decent music playback, but I feel its a little too old model. Is there any other better alternative to this mobiel in the same price range?

Best options:

SE W395 ~ 7.3K*

Samsung J800 Luxe ~ 6.7K*

The Samsung U600 is definitely worth considering with all those features packed into a 10.9mm profile.

On the downside it has a slow UI & an average battery life, a price to pay for the slim profile.

The slimmest option as far as clamshells go, is the Moto RAZR.

Hope this helped.

Don't you like one in particular ???

Anyways, I suggest the SE G502 !
And if you like the steel finish better, get the Samsung L700.

Yes, G502 looks a better prospect.

Only the phones that you don't want i.e the Nokia E75 and N97 satisfy all of your requiremnts.

Why don't you want to buy N97 or E75???
They are great phones.

You can look at the HTC Touch Pro 2(it has a full QWERTY keypad) or Touch Diamond 2(touchscreen only, no physical keypad). Both are based on WM.
You can use either Opera, Fennec or Skyfire browser on these phones.
Don't know though if it is available in India.

Looking for a touch screen phone, with good camera, and should be fun (and easy) to use. Not really bothered about OS, as I haven't used any of them, so we'll see.

Budget - Around 16k

The perfect option for you : Nokia 5800 XM (16.4K*) !

It really is a decision between the Samsung i900 Omnia (25.5K*) and the HTC Diamond2 (28.7K*) !

If its sheer productivity & functionality you seek, the Diamond2 justifies its asking price with ease!
