Read what Nokia said.. just that it won't be at 29,999. Could be higher or lower.
If it is higher, just wait for a month, you'll get it at 28-29k anyway.
One thing I'm disappointed at Nokia for the resolution. I know Symbian has limitation for a max 640x360 resolution. But in a 4" Belle phone, they should have at least 960x480 :|

The problem is not limitation of resolution. It's just to avoid fragmentation and keep app compatibility. But I agree 640x360 is pretty low for 4"...they could have quadrupled it to 1280x720 Apple style but alas, Nokia won't do that for Symbian since they now worship WP
I still dont think its worth 30k.
I was thinking of getting this as a second phone (I need 2 anyway) and then ditch my P&S cam for good to be honest. But not in hurry to do so at this price.
The future for Nokia PureView: Possible slimmer models and 'not necessarily a 41MP se
Nokia's 808 PureView may not even be blasting retinas in stores just yet, but that doesn't mean those Finnish cameraphone obsessives aren't already cooking up a buffet of high-megapixel ideas for the future. Vesa Jutila, Head of Product Marketing for the incoming 808 PureView, said that there was plenty more high-spec digital imaging products in the pipeline. While he wasn't about to be drawn on specifics for any future Lumia-Pureview unions just yet, there were "multiple ways" that Nokia could run with its new imaging jewel. Slimmer models are a possibility, still containing high-end Zeiss optics and Nokia's oversampling techniques avoiding the need for optical zoom. He added that the next generation of Nokia camera sensors are already being worked on -- the 808 PureView was borne from an idea back in 2007. Jutila included one more soupçon of information: future PureView products "would not necessarily have the same 41-megapixel sensor" that we've been playing with recently.
Support = bugfixes and minor updates, and they will continue till 2016.
Kinda like Windows XP, which still gets minor bugfixes and updates today, despite being a deprecated OS.
While a lumia 800 is selling for a 23k with a licensed OS, I think Nokia should price it around 20k if they really want to increase the sells. Otherwise, eventually they will drop prices to under 20k and even then people won't show much interest.
I think they'll support symbian with updates a lot more. 808, if they price it right, will sell really well. launch it at 32k and bring price down to 28-27 after a few months, this is the only logical way to have it sell a lot.
The articles from gizmodo and engadget, praising a symbian phone heavily, are actually shocking... You normally wouldn't see them praising something that is from symbian, so you can rest assured that 808 will be quite a hit. The only thing nokia need to do is get the pricing right.
