Seems like a good time to join up here as I'm about to Splurge on a computer after...*wait for it* ten years(noob in the house). Yup you heard right. It's been ten years since I got anything new and shiny for this heap I'm using.

So will be seeing you guys on the forums as I got a whole bag of questions for yah.

P3 850 Mhz
128 MB Ram
*god this is embarrassing*
oh this is the clincher----- Nvidia Riva TNT2 model 64 32 MB (should have it on display in a museum)

Got a sound card in there somewhere...oh yeah its there under a pile of dust.

Not for long....in about a week I'll be getting

CPU: C2D E6600
Motherboard: Asus P5N32E-SLI
Graphics Card: XFX 8800GTS 640 MB
Ram: 2 Gb transcend DDR2 @ 667Mhz
Sound Card: X-Fi Extreme Music
Cabbie: Antec Nine Hundred

Still a couple of things to figure out but this will be the base.
Gotta figure out a good PSU
 
Think your old rig is embarassing? I've an authentic 10 yr old P1(MMX) 200Mhz and it's still running fine. Was using it until six months ago. And there are guys here with 486 CPUs also.

Don't think your PC is 10 years old though..more like six or seven. You sure about the age?

Well i meant it's been ten years since I got a new PC for myself. The one I'm using is my Dad's. He gave it to me about 6 years ago.

And my 486 is in storage :)

*Edit- Just saw your rig. Hows the Antec Neo PSU holding out? I'm thinking of getting one(true power trio 550) for the new PC I mentioned. With a 8800 GTS though.
 
It's one sweet piece of Antec engineering. The 80 mm fan is quieter than stock HSF of my processor. To me, it lends a certain distinction of quality to my whole rig(along with my 2GB OCZ RAM that I recently purchased from abroad. :) )

The Antec Neo series are the only ones worth dropping serious cash on IMO. CoolerMaster has better options for those on a budget. The Corsair 620HX also seems to be popular in this forum.

Will feel good to play a decent FPS without having to wait 3 seconds for the bullet to leave my gun. *sigh*
