Hi All. I have opened this thread for people to ask queries and seek answers to their questions about Employee Provident Fund (EPF) and Voluntary Provident Fund (VPF).

I will start with my first query..

I recently changed jobs and my previous organization was Non-Exempt (PF with EPFO) and my current organization is Exempted (PF Trust). I submitted transfer request on the EPFO website and downloaded the Form 13. I took a print of the same and signed and scanned it and sent to my previous organization as directed by them. I had chosen attestation through previous employer.

The status of the transfer was "Pending with Field office" since last few days. But today, I got message that claim is rejected and reason is as follows...

Your Claim [ Claim Id - PUPUN220450037168 ] has been rejected due to : 1) PF WAGES MORE THAN 15000/-& DOJ IS AFTER 01/09/2014 CLARIFY EPS ELIGIBLITY ELSE PROVIDE ANNXURE-K 2) FATHERs NAME DIFFERS 3) CLAIM ALREADY SETTLED

Now I am not sure if it says that the reasons are all 3 (should not be as claim is not settled) or one of the 3. I never submitted any Annexure K but when I read online now, it seems that since the transfer is happening from a Non Exempt Org to an Exempt org, I may need Annexure K.
If so, then how do I get annexure K. I see that there is a download Annexure K link on EPFO portal but when i click that, I get message as..

No exempted to unexempted provident fund transfer claims associated with the UAN

Can anyone help me how to proceed? How to get Annexure K, who provides the same?

What could be the reason from the 3 if you know, did you look into the 3 points? I feel its either of the 3 the way they have put it.
You can check with the old/new company on this and see if someone who knows this stuff can explain you better
Last resort will be to go EPFO office for an answer.

I am also sure the Point# 3 is not applicable. I also don't think there is father's name mismatch. It has to do with Annexure K and I have emailed the offboarding email of previous org and also raised query in my current org to ask about it.

When I changed job back in 2019, my from org was exempt and so was to org. That time, my from org gave me Annexure K.
But then the org where I was employed from 2019 to 2022, they changed from being exempt to non exempt so now today, when I am trying to do transfer, it is from NON EXEMPT to EXEMPT.

So I am not sure how I will get Annexure K. Lets see what both the companies (previous and current) tell me about it.

I will wait for both companies to respond but I think I will then raise one more transfer request but choose "Attestation through Current Employer" and see if my current needs Form 13 or not.

My case was other way round (exempt to non-exempt) and had to be done with previous employer only. Firstly there's a rule that you cannot transfer until 60 days of exit. After that I raised the request online and gave the soft-copy of that form signed to my previous employer's Finance Department. After a few days it was "Pending with Field office" for about 1 month but then it got finally processed. It took a couple weeks for the balance to be reflected to the statement of my current employer PF.

If you have the choice to go through with current employer then do that because they should be more helpful for obvious reasons.

Right. That is what I intend to do. I am waiting for response from the ticket I raised in my existing company's system and once I am able to catch hold of someone here, I can ask them clearly what I should do.

Then the amount will become taxable upon withdrawal if period of employment with previous org is less than 5 years.

I worked in org1 for 14 years and org 2 for 2.5 years so in that case, does the amount collected during org1 also become taxabale or only the one that is from 2nd org? Also I had read somewhere that one can transfer PF upto 3 years from change of change post which the money in earlier PF account stops accumulating interest or something. Not very sure.
