The Radioactive area surrounding Chernobyl is becoming a post-apocalyptic Eden for wildlife

Take a look at that arch that they are building to cover and contain further contamination - http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/04/27/science/chernobyl-capping-a-catastrophe.html

Yups, the first one is EoL'ing...!

There are a ton of U-tube videos out there on this tragedy, basically they show:

1. The foolhardy nature of the engineers to run a "test", for which the reactor was not designed. (Using power from a depleting source to cool itself, they short circuited the cooling mechanism basically -in- theory).
2. The success of the township and how it was life upliftment for many in the USSR at that time.
3. The breach and how drastic it was. Fallout was recorded even at the Scandinavian nations.
4. Lie and cover up by the authorities.
5. Plight of the workers and how they were exposed to extreme radiation.
6. The extent of the radiation cover up.
7. Total abandonment and isolation of the area. Scary.
8. How mismanagement can lead to such disasters.

WMD's (specially the MIRVs) are 10000 times worse, cause they are meant to do this.

Inside Chernobyl (2012)
Chernobyl Uncensored - Documentary

Basically just search the term on you-tube's search bar, and a lot will come up. I watched a many, but cannot remember all the names. Most of those documentaries are really good. Scary though.

@raksrules : Will be watching "wolves" soon. And will let you know.

Just watched this documentary last week. Pretty interesting.

Edit: Some members have already talked about this docu. This is the one.

Meanwhile,

ISI still desperate for sand samples of nuclear test area in Pokhran
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...test-area-in-Pokhran/articleshow/34994122.cms

Even till today, the then director of United States' Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), George Tenent feels disappointed at not being able to get the hint of the nuclear test conducted by India in 1998.

According to an intelligence source, "ISI had launched its spies and agents whose objective was to take sand from this place. ISI wants to test the sand and analyze how the testing was done scientifically and technically. But due to the alertness of BSF jawans, their objective so far has not seen the light of the day."

Maybe they want to reverse engineer the sand to find out the radioactivity and corresponding amount of uranium to be used in the bomb. All their bombs are from China and possibly they get ready made units to be installed on missiles. Else there's no need to be scouting for sand even now.
