The Ridgeback.... My memories of my great dogs in Zimbabwe :)

well im a bit of a pet freak... used to have a lot of pets when i was stayin in Zim
but after comin to India i decided not to keep any dogs..... i felt its kind of a torture...with little space and stuff in India.... even though i live in a 5 storey house... no space for a decent compound :( sad.... but in Zim we had over an acre of space in our house... nice for dogs.... anyway comin to dogs... i have kept many kinds but the best i must say were my Rhodesian Ridgebacks or African Lion Hounds..... if you can get yourself one of those then they are the BEST dogs ever... they are a hybrid species created centuries when the white man first came to Africa..... they bred the local african dogs with the great dane... rotviler.. lab..etc to create a perfect hybrid dog.. which is exactly what the Ridgeback is...... it has everything...and i mean everything.... it is as friendly as a lab and as dangerous as a rotviler.... oh and the body... damn... just muscle.. nothing else... i know no one here has heard of that dog but jus check on the net... u will see a bit of all breeds in it... it is a perfect hybrid.... and the name Ridgeback... well it has a ridge on the back due to its hair growing backwards :)
 
ya its a hunting dog actually... they used them to hunt lions.. its called the african lion hound...... hmmmm well they can stay on veggie diet i suppose but not good for them.....
 
Actually any dog can be given a veggie only diet provided all the required nutrients are present.

Convincing your dog to eat it is, however, an entirely different story... :)

Nice looking dog. I'm guessing that it is not a sedate dog, hunting dogs are usually very playful..
