No. I just apply a bit of common sense . Modi had this propaganda of USA denying him a visa in 2013 which influenced Indians to vote for him . The man is really good at deception .

The US would love dearly to do what you said since the cold war. It's just that handover that is the problem.
eg. Is the US required to contain China? No.
Taiwan, S.Korea & Japan would be more than enough. All three are the equivalent of US armies. Only problem is the Koreans would never accept being under Japanese command. It's an open question whether the Taiwanese would cooperate as well but they seem to be less hostile.
How about in Europe? Are they capable of looking after themselves. Doesn't look like it when they keep reducing their budgets for defense since decades. If anything the Ukraine war has shown how important the US is to Europe.
Then there is west Asia. Here the problem is on the American side. The Dems want Iran to balance the Gulf & Israel and its vice versa with the Republicans. But with Trump the gulf Israeli connect will get stronger. Still a work in progress and the US can't quit anytime soon.
Realistically who wants the US to retrench?
Only Russia, China & Iran. Nobody else.
Only in an economic sense and this has been the case since the euro and to a lesser extent before. Not in terms of power.

US requires to contain China . Multi fold reasons are there .
1. They are losing their dominance in the pacific . USA controls upto China or one can technically assume that USA is China neighbour . For the past decade China , Taiwan , America , Japan , Australia , New Zealand have been trying to assert their dominance . These countries provide so much of aid in the pacific that no one has to really do any work for a living .
2. China has better manufacturing capabilities
3. China has bought up most of African mineral production sites and have bought important ports .
4. Chinese are aggressive . Short dic. syndrome .
5. A self sufficient China can threaten US hegemony .
6. Japan , Taiwan or Korea cannot contain an army of a million people , especially when most of Japan , South Korea are aged . All these countries have name sake armies dependent on USA .
Europe is not capable of any army . They can manufacture colourful panties though . They are woke except for a couple of countries with sensible leaders .
With regard to west asia - Israel , Saudi , UAE share good relations and are partners . The other small ones do not matter for now .
