Ah! Did she offer you anything once you escort her home OR you did not escort her home?

We're talking about Vesna at the Inn right? The only thing our conversation leads to is a Beer. When does this whole "escort" thing happen? I remember watching it in one of the videos way back, but it hasn't been initiated in my play-through yet. I get the feeling she doesn't like my scar, or may be it's the hair? :P

About the King of the Hunt suffice to say keep a close tab on the dialogues you use with him and certain NPC's.

Any other issues please bump me.

Okie doke!

Yes we are talking about Vesna, at night just outside the Tavern a few goons will be harassing her you can dispatch them and offer to escort her home. Then through dialogues you can give her a proposal.

@ALPHA17: I managed to save Vesna and even got her invite. But here' the thing, I forgot about the meet-up at the mill and continued to pursue other quests. I'm just defeated the Beast and when I now reach the mill entrance, I can't find Vesna there. Is the quest gone? This is the thing which I really hate about this game. It gives you absolutely no f*ckin' clue whatsoever about when the side quests will die. :(

Yes that quest is dead.

It is something of an old school hangover, a lot of quests in the sequel also don't scream finish us and when you realize it, too late.

Sorry, Sire. Should have added, do all quests in area before the main quest. This is not SKYRIM OR OBLIVION where the world is at your beck and call.

Well then, completed chapter 1 and I'll try to focus on the side quests in the second chapter. Hopefully, I shouldn't botch it up this time.

By the way a few questions --
Did you help the Scoiatel when they came to steal the shipment of arms?

Did you save Abigail OR denounced her?

In my playthrough, I went to see Vesna quite a few quests after I saved her and she was still there. If she did not show up, she's probably been killed by barghests.

Problem is Ethan Sire went there after finishing off the Hellhound. So the quest lapsed quite some time back.

I have played witcher 2 this year , and it was my one of the best experience , I haven't played witcher 1 till now because i was not a rpg game lover earlier . I am thinking of playing witcher 1 again to increase my excitement for witcher 3 . Maybe there will be some returning character from witcher 1 like above guyz have said . But the thing is I am not much exited to play witcher 1 due to poor graphics and the thing that i have played it sequel before . So if any member can tell if i will get the same feeling as i got playing witcher 2 .

It is the same feeling multiplied by two. Sure the graphics aren't the greatest by a long-shot but the character and quest development is on another level. The sequel diluted a few traits of the original (not too much) but on the whole is a befitting improvement over the original in all senses.

I suggest you play the first one (Enhanced Edition only), carry over the save game to the second one and see where you reach.

Bump in this thread if you get stuck OR need any help. Cheers and happy hunting White One!

Unfortunately, I didn't help them. I chose to side Haren on this and killed them all. After the chain of events were unveiled, I wish I had let them take it. That scum Haren.

Did you save Abigail OR denounced her?

I saved her. The truth was clear as day and I had all the evidence to defend her and as always, I like playing the knight in shining armour. :P

You're right. Not only that, but I successfully managed to botched up on couple of other quests too. For instance, I didn't complete the Ghoul contract as I didn't have the creatures entry in my Beastiary. I was slaying Ghouls center, left and right, but only realised that I needed to the info for it in my journal to actually complete the quest. By the time I realised this, Abigail was nowhere to be found and when she did show up, I couldn't purchase stuff from her. Heck, I tried speaking to every Old Townswoman and they told me all the tales except for the Ghouls.

I also failed to initiate the Dice game with Zoltan. I'm sure I even missed King of the Crypt and Hot Potato. :(

Well, mistake learned. I'll be more careful in the second chapter.

iittopper: Grab the Enhanced Edition from GoG. Trust me, if you loved Witcher 2 as much as I did, then this will surely live up to your expectations. Keep aside the graphics and combat part; it's the storyline and interactions that you'll absolutely enjoy. This is what someone over at the Witcher board had said and I can certainly say every word of it is true. For a 5 year old game, it still packs a solid experience.

Maybe you would realise the weight of your decision much later. In Chapter 2.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Even I do that every-time. Change spoiler names, similar name will make the tag malfunction.

Yes, that is why I said that the original title lacked in certain departments which the sequel takes care of. Intelligence plays a role here if I am not wrong, you will unlock a small glossary of monsters if you unlock the right skill in that tree.

Happy hunting White One!

Progressing pretty decently in chapter 2. This chapter seems to be filled with secondary quests. I have my entire log stuffed with it. I already beat Zoltan, Gardener and Carmen at the Dice game, but I still can't seem to challenge the professional at Hairy Bear. Who else can I challenge? Visited the swamp area and got my ass kicked while assisting Gramps. But then I realised that I could lead him through a safer path, rather than taking a short-cut through the swamp. Saved the Half-Elven lady in the Ghost Story quest and she has asked me to meet her later on. I ain't messing this opportunity like I did with Vesna. :P

When do I start getting the Silver talents? I have almost maxed out most of my bronze ones in most of the skills. Also, is a good person to sell those vampire tooth's? How do you apply the grindstone to your weapon?

^^ Did you talk to the village head for the lumber village? She figures in a lot of side-quests, one main-quest and you can play dice against her.

There is a lot going on with Gramps, best you do that story arc as well. Have you met Kalkstein again?

I don't recall any Elven lady? Do you mean the Dryad with the Druids in the swamps?

Should start getting Silver Talents towards the later part of the chapter.

Lumber village? Where is it located? in the Swamp Forrest? The ferryman did say something about a person having a job for me, just before I was about to leave the Forrest. I was only visiting to collect Celandine for Shani. I'll re-visit that place later.

Yes I did. He gave me a quest to clear some Mage's Tower?

Nope. She doesn't have a name, at least she didn't reveal it to me. I met her after I completed the quest The Ghost Story.

Cool!

^^ It is the first village that you encounter before marching off into the swamps. It is a brick makers village not lumberjacks, my mistake.

Yes, explore the swamp in its entirety, read whatever tomes you can about the regions monsters / flora-fauna. The side-quests you receive there are quite satisfying and you can harvest a fair bit of loot and experience.

Ah! A quest I have never done, time to fire it up again.

Safe journey's, White Wolf!

Howdy ALPHA17.

Got a lot of progress in on this weekend, but still didn't complete Chapter 2; it's freakin' huge. I visited the Swamp area and instantly met Vaska. Got a couple of quests from her and also beat her at dice. The first time she almost drained me of 500 orens (lucky hag!). Thankfully, I re-loaded my save and won it in the first go. If there is anything I have learned from this game, then it's always keep saving before you do ANYTHING.

Got it on with the Half-Elf woman and Morenn. Finally called it a day after a visit to Gramp's hut and was completely shocked by his secret. Anyway, heading back in the game now.

Nice to know Ethan.

I am personally away from a stable internet connection so it might take me some time to respond to your queries. Glad to know that you are enjoying the game, yes the intermediate Chapters of the Witcher 1 are huge and feature a lot of exploration. Try to go till the extremities of the map there is plenty of content on the face and underneath it as well.

Yes, in some ways as I had stated the Witcher carries a lot more ambiguous content.

IF The Wild Hunt is going to be a return to this kind of game-play and a more open seamless world we are in for a hell of a ride. And knowing CD PROJEKT RED, I have faith. =]

Happy hunting, White One.
