Hi,
I need tiny amount of TIM and Liquid(to remove old TIM).
I can't spent 1K for an old CPU.
Do anyone selling his/her excess TIM ?
My current temp of C2D is 50C(without load) & 75C(with load and fan become very noisy).
Thanks!

Acetone from your chemist: Rs. 30

White heatsink compound from TV repair shop: Rs 15

Yes, it is good enough for old CPUs if you use it properly and put a fresh layer once a year after it dries out.

Thanks for ur suggestion!
Will that heat sink compound work like other ?
I mean I want the load temp(while CPU 90%) down to under 65C.
Saw cheapest TIM from CM @Rs.200/-.

65C on the stock cooler at stock clock is a little high but not out of safety margin.

If you are looking for lower temperature get a aftermarket cooler. TIM will not improve things significantly. Between generic white paste and the best stuff you will see a max of three degrees difference, and that is provided you can apply it professionally and get a great fit. Margins shrink with most end-users because we don't do seven or eight trial fits.

There is also ventilation, but then maybe you want to move this thread to a more general section.

White paste from CM and white paste in a small container are practically the same. Feel free.

Thanks for ur advise!
I guess there is no harm to spend Rs.20/ for TIM.
If not work then may be try a branded one.
