The editor has conducted a test, and roughly 10% of the CD-R's turned out to be corrupted, which included premium brands like Kodak and Mistuibishi. Whats worse is that CD-R's are known to be much more reliable then DVD's. I have a few TY going bad within 1.5 yrs...

A lot depends upon storage conditions, humidity, temperature & dust... Manufacturers only advertise life cycle depending upon their ideal test conditions... Nevertheless CD/DVD's do ave a good life of ~5-7 years after that one should backup to another media without taking any chances....

You can only hope to save your data but eventually everybody loose some..
