I have a frontech cabby, and it has nothing special so to make it special i want to mod it. Simple mod just want to make the side panal transparent and want to add some LED fans.

So here is the question, why glass is not used in place of acrylic? I asked some local shop about acrylic but they had big piece :(, so m thinking of using glass in place of acrylic, will there be any problem?

TIA

glass is heavy and brittle

if it shatters it may cause damage to internal parts not to mention the headache in cleaning it out

acrylic is easier to work with and more forgiving

its is also way way lighter then glass

"Glass " that's a big NO NO .... i totally agree with vivacious_tg , where do u reside, if u r in mumbai, have u tried Mohammed ali road ???

So finally i did the curring.. but the edges are some what rough. what to do guys ??
And any idea how to fix the glass??

Why do you keep asking, if you have to go against the suggestions and do whatever you feel like???

Anyways, why dont you try screws or fevicol to paste the glass on metal.

No point in wasting time giving real suggestions

Acrylic sheets would have been hundred times better dude. All you should've done is google "Acrylic sheets" and it would find the nearest shop selling Acrylic sheets in your city. 3mm sheets for an ATX cabinet wouldn't have costed more than 150 .... :/

Hey bro don't be so harsh, i am not a professional nor a regular modder, just saw some wonderful case mode so thought of modding my own cabby. I started this thread to learn from you and its now that i don't follow your suggestion.

I too wants to use acrylic and i know that it is much better then glass. But the problem is that it is not available in my town. I asked some glass dealers, they said that they sell only large uncut piece of size 4ft x 6ft that too for 1.9k. Now i need a sheet of 25cm x 30cm, so buyng this large sheet is quite meaningless for me. So reluctantly i went for glass.

And thanks for that suggestion. :)

thanks mate, about the temps, i think i will have to get AS 5, applied some generic TIM, didn't help:(

Very nice although it appears the all the fans seem to blowing inwards you are going to have a very dusty set up. Also the edges look a bit rough- why don't you sand the sharp edges of it and then apply black tape over it to give a good lining :)
