Galvanizer
Ok, so I am thinking of getting myself a decent camera. Need it mostly for portraits/parties etc so inspite of my love for powershots, a more compact cam would be good.
I dont play around with manual settings etc much :ashamed: Me more of a P&S person, and no, I dont see myself spending too much time on learning photography as a hobby either :cool2:
Sourcing from US is an option. Me not in an immediate hurry.
1. Budget: <300$
2. Wide angle would be good for this purpose, right?
3. What I have seen and liked. The canon Compact range for the decent photo quality for the size
IXUS 860 IS = SD870 IS
wide angle - 8MP - 3.8x - 230$
IXUS 870IS = SD880IS
DIGIC IV - 10MP - 4X - wide angle 255$
I like the 870IS currently for the wideangle and the fact that it has the newer Digic IV processor as compared to the 860IS with Digic III. Not that big a diff in price here anyway.
Reviews around the place are good
What other options do I need?
Portability anything equal or smaller than these cams. No Powershot size cams. I want smaller stuff. Photo quality/colors are imp to me, and this is where I believe the Canons shine generally
