Hello guys,

right now i am 99% set to buy thinkpad x120e but seeing i won't be using laptop till 15may only after that so was thinking will trinity laptop will be launched by then

or i should go for thinkpad x120e

Wait for Trinity. But answer me one thing, why are you even buying x120e if you're considering Trinity as trinity is supposed to give balanced CPU performance with very good GPU performance? But on the oother hand x120e doesn't lies in same category with very poor graphics. If you want good graphics performance along with some good CPU, then wait or get x120e.

The price to performance ratio of x102e is very good. I highly doubt if the trinity laptops be priced at par with the x120e.

i have no idea about trinity it just everyone is saying its better :/ but no worry i have ordered thinkpad x120e just few hours ago thanks to #Metalspree

@OP- Trinity is a costly product and the systems will have higher price compared to X120e . You will not find a Trinity based system in Brazos price point.

If you are looking for X120e type of systems, wait for Brazos 2.0 refresh, should be dropping by soon. High clock, turbo core and efficient chipset to provide better performance and power consumption.

I still do not get the way you judge processors. Both cater to different audience and needs. Brazos is a low power more agile kind of system, trinity or Llano for now is more performance and high power system. Not meant to be bifurcating each other.

Brazos cater to low screen high battery life with decent performance, more than that of ATOM. Trinity/Llano offers full blow quad core with ample graphics at the expense of battery (still decent).

Just like you do not compare Atom to Core series likewise Brazos and Trinity are totally different.

Yeah, it will be at least 20k.

The trinity ULV 17W and LV 25W are premium offerings, these are cherry picked chips meant to be sold at premium prices, you will never find Trinity LV/ULV system in 20-30kish range.

Edit - Congrats on the purchase.

Did I say something different ?

Sorry if I conveyed it in a wrong way.

There will be 3 class of trinity mobile APUs
  1. Normal Trinity - highest performing - 35W TDP mobile parts.
  2. LV Trinity - 25W TDP, slightly lower clocked and low voltage
  3. ULV Trinity 17W TDP - Aimed at ultrabooks kind of devices with higher ASP.

Price will be in ascending order IMO, given producing ULV/LV products is harder then normal APUs & yes normal APU will be available in 30kish range considering Llano notebooks starts from 28k.

I am caught in same dilemma as OP. Any idea when is Brazos 2.0 going to be available in India. Will it be within 25k?

My priority is good battery life with decent performance (from what ive read the E350's would satisfy me performance wise and C60 would not).

Any idea if the battery runtimes will improve with Brazos 2.0 ? If performance is going to increase at expense of battery life or with same battery life then x120e looks good to me. If standard 14" notebooks will give ~ 6 hours on Brazos 2.0 then ill happily wait.
