As some of you might remember, I had one 7200.8 250 GB Seagate go bad on me some time back. I managed to back up the data and give the drive for RMA.

After around 6 days I got another drive. AGAIN another 7200.8 and what more, this had a "Certified Repaired Drive" written on top of the label.

Hardly 1 week has passed from the day i got the replacement.

Today, i open up my computer, and i am greeter to a clicking noise coming from inside the comp.

I immediately put up my hands against the HDD cage and it confirms my worst fear. Then i locate the origin to be the "repaired" new 250 GB seagate and its doing a song and dance routine..... its spinning up and then giving a loud click noise, over and over again.

It does that for couple more times then i get a error message in windows saying that "Could not write write cache data. Data has been lost."

WTH to do now?

Not to mention, 2 WD Raptors 10k rpm drives are functioning like gems in the same drive cage powered of the same PSU.

And its not a isolated incident. It has happened to me like 3 times in a row now.

Note to self: Never purchase Seagate products. :@

RMA it again and make a fuss and tell them to give you a new 7200.9 drive.

Tell them you will pay a little bit extra if you have to.....
