Israel. Why I am I not surprised at all?
People who have migrated and surviving among extreme adversaries for eons despite continuous conflicts and the country with one of the best intelligence networks since a long time.
Leaving aside their brutal efficiency at war, from a religious angle too, the Jews were the original people of the book (Torah/Bible and other variants) and as offspring of Abraham, the only ones considered to be chosen and favored by the God Yahweh and so enjoy a psychological advantage among other religions with the same roots at least in the minds of the people who are well versed with the books.
Still, contrary to its name, ISIS apparently has a lot of members that are not Muslims. As per research of people who went in, they allow anybody to join as long as they follow the tenets. Unlike other outfits like Al Qaeda where the membership is more because of delusions of religious obligations, ISIS fraternity seems to be more attracted by the thrill of raw violence and perversity which is probably why the sex slavery is apparently one of the main attractions for recruitment. So that psychological edge may not have a role at all and it it may all be attributable to the raw military power that the Israel has.
